The aim of this study is to investigate the mediating factors which influence the second language learners' pronunciation skills in the study abroad context and to confirm the previous literature by analyzing the small data that have been collected. To carry out the current study, the data was collected from 20 international students who are second language learners of English and live in London for only 1 year. Firstly, to understand how much they are affected by the mediating factors, the questionnaire have been distributed to them to detect the levels of the mediating variables. Secondly, their speech data have been elicited through a picture description task and their speech samples are recorded. After the data collection phase, three native speakers of the English language have been chosen to rate the pronunciation skills of the participants by listening to the recorded that. Then finally, the correlations have been measured between these variables and the current pronunciation level that they have according to the ratings of the native speakers' judgements. The variables that have been taken into consideration are the age of learning, length of learning, motivation & anxiety, and L1 & L2 use of the participants. After computing the Pearson's correlations, the results showed that the age of learning has the strongest correlation value with pronunciation level of the second language learners. Other mediating factors that have been analyzed showed the correlation values which are in parallel with the previous studies in the literature. Thus, the findings of the study are found to be enough to confirm the earlier studies.
