This thesis consists of two chapters, six paragraphs, conclusion, bibliography and applications. Studies of Azerbaijani authors, studied in the framework of the thesis were analysed by the comparison method. The first chapter describes the emergence of history science, what periods of time it covers, its scientific qualities, the research methods, and the subjectivity within its structure are discussed; Further, Azerbaijani historiograhry is investigated within the framework of specific historical periods. It is also indicated that the Azerbaijani historiography of the Soviet time was formed under the influence of the policy applied by the Soviet administration. The emergence of national states also does not occur without a trace for historiography. The second chapter of the thesis consists of two sections. The first chapter examines the works of Azerbaijani authors written in the Azerbaijani language, and the second paragraph deals with the works written in Russian. An attempt is made to characterize these works. As a result of the information received, an attempt was made to obtain original data by comparing these works. In conclusion, summarizes the work done. After the list of references, an appendix is given, in which the works of Azerbaijani authors are given, which are investigated within the framework of the dissertation.
