This dissertation examines the ontological connections between Baruch Spinoza's works and Rosi Braidotti's The Posthuman. It attempts to draw a clear picture of Braidotti's influence from Spinoza by also pointing at the parts that have been missed out in the process of formulating the posthuman subjectivity. The study begins with an account of Spinoza's influence in contemporary philosophy, and then proceeds to the Braidotti's usage of Spinoza's monistic understanding of the universe. After executing a critique on The Posthuman, it follows by examining the political aspects of Spinoza's thought on subjectivity and concludes by relating a political movement to both Spinozist and posthumanist theoretical frameworks. This dissertation argues that even though the posthuman subjectivity bases itself on a Spinozist ontology, it cannot be actualised because it misses out necessary efforts for forming common notions through collective practices which begin with human-human relations. Ethical aims of posthumanist thought can only be proceeded by a collective comprised of humans who can gain adequate ideas of their places in the universe
