According to international social understanding, either every 'thing' that man can rule is created for him, and thus he is partly free to do what he wants with it, or if he is able to rule over such 'thing', this creates enough legitimate ground for his ruling. Although various phenomena that restrict this freedom of man have emerged over time, they are quite insufficient in terms of the protection of nature. It is evident that the world is in an ecological crisis. Therefore, it is critical to think about this problem and produce a solution. In this context, this study will investigate the existence of nature's rights. This is necessary because of the lack of effective protection of nature in existing legal systems and for correcting the approach that has been wrong from the very beginning. After the classical and modern philosophical approaches to nature and their inability to explain and solve nature's crisis are explained, the philosophy behind the rights of nature will be examined as the basis of the solution. In continuation, how international law can be a subject in this issue and how the rights of nature can be protected in the context of international law will be analyzed.
