This paper aims to clarify the dilemma between centralised and decentralised land-use planning for sustainable land management. Furthermore the study illustrates the importance of land management and the role of land-use is in sustainable land management in depth reseach. This has been completed by selecting two different countries; Western Australia represents a centralised land-use planning approach, whereas the Danish planning system is an example of a decentralised approach. During my research I have taken into account socio-politic background, implementation, approach, contributions, and limitations. This research in detailed mainly a comparison between of above mentioned case studied highlights pros and cons of each one. My findings are decentralised land-use planning outweighs to centralised approach in terms of some conditions such as public participation, quicker making decision and independency. I strongly believe this study will contribute to determine which approach will be more effective to achieve sustainable land management. In addition to this, It emphasize the importance of land-use planning in land management.
