Özet
STEM eğitiminin daha fazla gelişmesi ve başarılı olmasında, öğretmen, araştırmacı ve öğretmen adaylarınca uygulanan STEM etkinliklerinin işlevi oldukça önemlidir. Bu bağlamda geniş bir etkinlik havuzunun bulunması gerekmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı STEM eğitimini benimseyen ve PISA sınavlarında başarı gösteren bazı ülkelerin STEM etkinliklerini incelemek ve Türkiye'deki STEM eğitimiyle karşılaştırmasını yapmaktır. Araştırma konusu belirlenirken TIMMS VE PISA sınav sonuçları dikkate alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda sınavda başarı göstermiş ülkelerden olan Hong Kong ve ABD, etkinliklerinin incelenmesi ve Türkçeye uyarlanması uygun görülmüştür. Çevirisi yapılan Hong Kong ve ABD STEM etkinlikleri, Türkiye STEM etkinliğiyle birlikte 10 yüksek lisans öğrencisine incelenmesi için sunulmuş ve ardından 10 soruluk bir görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Görüşme elektronik ortam üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu belirlenirken amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden, ölçüt örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. Görüşme sonrasında toplanan veriler içerik analizi ile analiz edilmiş, kod ve temalar oluşturularak bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Yapılan analizler ve etkinlik incelemesi sonucunda ABD ve Hong Kong'da uygulanan STEM eğitiminin ülkemizde uygulanan STEM eğitimi ile pek bir farkının bulunmadığı, ülkemizin TIMMS ve PISA sınavlarında başarısız olmasının temel sebebinin öğretmenlerin STEM eğitimi ile ilgili bilgi eksikliklerinin bulunması ve bu sebeple STEM eğitiminin başarı ile uygulanamaması sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sorunun giderilmesi için üniversitelerde verilen STEM derslerinin artırılması, görev yapan öğretmenlere STEM eğitimi hakkında kurslar, konferanslar vb. verilmesi, okullarda STEM eğitimine uygun ortamların sağlanması ve STEM eğitim merkezlerinin artırılması gibi öneriler sunulmuştur.

The function of STEM activities implemented by teachers, researchers and teacher candidates is very important for the further development and success of STEM education. In this context, there should be a large activity pool. The aim of this research is to examine the STEM activities of some countries that have adopted STEM education and succeeded in the PISA exams and to compare them with STEM education in Turkey. While determining the research topic, TIMMS and PISA exam results were taken into account. In this context, it was deemed appropriate to examine and adapt the activities of Hong Kong and the USA, which are among the successful countries in the exam, to Turkish. The translated Hong Kong and USA STEM activities were presented to 10 graduate students together with the Turkey STEM activity, and then an interview form with 10 questions was applied. The interview was conducted electronically. While determining the working group, Covid-19 conditions, which have become a global problem, were taken into account and easily accessible case sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods arising from the transition to distance education, was used. The data collected after the interview were analyzed by content analysis, codes and themes were created and the findings were interpreted. As a result of the analyzes and effectiveness review, the STEM education applied in the USA and Hong Kong is not much different from the STEM education applied in our country, and the main reason for our country's failure in TIMMS and PISA exams is the lack of knowledge of teachers about STEM education and therefore the inability to apply STEM education successfully. conclusion has been reached. In order to solve this problem, increasing the STEM courses given in universities, courses, conferences, etc. about STEM education for the teachers. Suggestions were made, such as providing appropriate environments for STEM education in schools and increasing STEM education centers.
