Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, COVİD-19 pandemi döneminde ortaokul öğrencilerinin COVİD-19 sürecinde yaşadıkları deneyimler ile sosyal beceri düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın evrenini Kocaeli İli Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı İzmit ilçesinde bulunan Hacı Bektaş Veli Ortaokulunda 2021-2022 öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 402 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi %95 güven düzeyi ve 0.3 güven aralığında 292 öğrenci olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmaya 307 öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılım sağlamıştır. Veriler, Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Çocuklar İçin Sosyal Beceri Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin değerlendirilmesinde IBM SPSS Statistics 22 istatistik paketprogramından yararlanılmıştır. Normal dağılım göstermeyen verilerde bağımsız iki grupkarşılaştırmalarında Mann-Whitney U testi, ikiden fazla bağımsız grup karşılaştırmalarındaise Kruskal-Wallis testi kullanılmıştır. İstatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabuledilmiştir. Öğrencilerin Sosyal Beceri Ölçeği puanları incelendiğinde; çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin Sosyal Beceri Ölçeği puan ortalamalarının 56.60±8.28 olduğu görülmektedir. Kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre sosyal beceri düzeylerinin anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Okulu sevmeyen ve uzaktan eğitim sürecinde not ortalamasının altında kalan dersi bulunan öğrencilerin sosyal beceri düzeylerinin anlamlı bir şekilde daha düşük olduğu bulunmuştur. Aile/öğretmen ile derslerle ilgili yaşanılan sorunları paylaşan, pandemide sınıf içi grup etkinliklerine katılan, sosyal medyadaki sınıf iletişim grubundaki çalışmaları ve duyuruları takip eden ve pandemide arkadaşlarla etkili iletişim kuran öğrencilerin sosyal beceri düzeyleri anlamlı bir şekilde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Okul sağlığı alanında çalışmalar yapılarak öğrencilerin sosyal beceri düzeylerini etkileyebilecek faktörlerin dikkate alınarak bütüncül okul sağlığı hemşireliği uygulamalarının verilmesi önerilmektedir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences and social skill levels of secondary school students during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The universe of the study consists of 402 students studying at Hacı Bektaş Veli Secondary School in the Izmit district of Kocaeli Province, under the Ministry of National Education, in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the study was calculated as 292 students with a confidence level of 95% and a confidence interval of 0.3. 307 students participated in the study voluntarily. IBM SPSS Statistics 22 statistical package program was used to evaluate the research data. The Mann-Whitney U test was used in the comparisons of two independent groups in the data that did not show normal distribution, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was used in the comparisons of more than two independent groups. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. When the Social Skills Scale scores of the students are examined; it is seen that the mean score of the Social Skills Scale of the students participating in the study is 56.60±8.28. It was found that the social skill levels of female students were significantly higher than male students. It was found that the social skill levels of the students who do not like school and who have courses below the grade point average in the distance education process are significantly lower. Sharing the problems experienced with the family/teacher, participating in the classroom group activities during the pandemic, following the studies and announcements in the classroom communication group on social media. The social skill levels of the students who communicated effectively with their friends during the pandemic were found to be significantly higher. It is suggested that holistic school health nursing practices should be given by taking into account the factors that may affect the social skill levels of students by conducting studies in the field of school health.
