Özet
ÖZET“Piri Reis harita ve portolanlanrun plastik açıdan analizi”konusunun seçilmesinin nedeni, özne (sanatçı) ile yapıt arasındaki etkileşim ve kendiliğinden kurulan estetik heyecan olgusudur. Piri Reis harita ve portolanlanna ağırlık verilmesinin bir başka nedeni de Doğu aleminin bir temsilcisi olarak Piri Reis'in tarihsel boyutu, gözlem gücü ve kendine özgü anlatımdır. Bu anlatımın plastik gereksinmelere ne kadar cevap verdiği, motifin, derinliğin, çizgi ve hareketin bütüne olan etkisinin ideanın oluşumuna nasıl cevap verebileceği araştırılmıştır. Konu incelenirken, harita estetiğindeki aynılıklar, düş gücü ve gözlemin ortaya koyduğu figür ve motiflerin harita estetiğine olan etkisiyle bütün resimleri kapsayacak bir düşüncede buluşulmaya çalışılmıştır. Haritalar sanatsal bir zenginlik olarak değerlendirilirken, duyulan estetik heyecan ile düşünsel boyut ortaya çıkmaya başlamıştır bile. Buna göre haritaların plastik açıdan çözümlenmesiyle günümüze kadar gelen figür ve motiflerin sanatçıyı kuşatan karakterleri sanatçının algı ve yorumu ile geleceğe ait göndermeler olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu figür, motif, sembol vb. biçimler, plastik elemanlar olarak seçilmiş olup, tüm resimlerde idea'yı gerçekleştiren bir yol teşkil etmektedirler; bu yol özgünlüğe giden bir yoldur. Resimlerin ayrı ayrı açıklanmasının sebebi, haritaların bünyesinde yer alan farklılıklar, yanı sıra ayrılık ya da benzerlikler ile simgesel özelliğe sahip bu geleneğin farklı yansımaları, ayrıntıların bütüne olan yakınlığı ve çok yönlü anlatım biçimlerine sahip olmalarıdır.11 Haritalarda biçim olarak kullanılan motiflerin içerdiği anlamlar araştırılarak, ortaya çıkan mesajın günümüzdeki etkisi incelenmiş, teknik olarak klişe ve planlar, çalışmalar üzerinde kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaların hemen hepsinde serigrafi ve gravür teknikleri bir arada kullanılmış; ancak, bu uygulanışta amaç ile teknik arasındaki tutarlılığın önemi üzerinde ağırlıklı olarak durulmuştur. Çalışmaların tümü bu akademik çalışma süresince üretilmiştir. Bu raporda basılı fotografik malzemelerin, çalışmalara olan etkisinin, baskı resime nasıl kompoze edildiği ve yeni bir sanat yapıtı meydana getirildiği incelenmiş, plastik gereksinimler doğrultusunda çözümlenirken sanatçının kendi yorumu ile ortaya konulmuştur.

Ill SUMMARY The reason to choose the theme of ithe analysis of Piri Reis maps and portolans from the plastic art point of viewi is the interaction between the artist and subject and aesthetic excitement that arise spontaneously. Other reasons to emphasize Piri Reis maps and portolans are Piri Reisfs unique expression style, observational power and his historical value as a representative of the Oriental world. The effectiveness of his style to the plastic art elements such as the effect of motifs, depth, figures and motion towards to whole has been searched. As investigating the subject, parallelisms in the map aesthetics were unified toward an idea that would include all the pictures by means of the effects of the figures and motifs to the map aesthetics originated from imagination and observation. While the maps are being evaluated as valuable artistic sources, aesthetic excitement creates an intellectual dimension too. The figures and motifs therefore were considered as temperaments that embrace the artist, artistfs perception, and his interpretation and projections to the future. These figures, motifs, symbols were chosen as plastic art elements so that they create a method that producing the idea in all the pictures. This method is a way to the uniqueness. The reasons of explaining the pictures piece by piece are the differences among the maps, different projections of this tradition thatIV has similar symbolic characteristics; and the proximity of details to the whole and multiple expression styles. In addition to the investigation of the meanings of motifs in the maps, the influence of the theme that has emerged from this investigation to the contemporary world was also analyzed. This theme was employed as a technique on clichfi, plans and works. Serigraph and engraving techniques were employed altogether in almost all of the works. Nonetheless the importance of consistency between the purpose and technique was emphasized heavily. All of the works were produced during this academic year. In this report the effect of printed photographic materials to the works; its composition to printing art and consequently its way of producing a new artistic creation were investigated. While this study is analyzing these points in the context of plastic arts, itis been presented with the artistis own unique interpretation.
