Özet
Bu araştırma günümüzde Yunan ulusçuluğunun fikir babası sayılan Rigas'ın kaleme aldığı anayasası üzerine düşüncelerini ele alırken, onun ne kadar Osmanlı olduğunun ya da Osmanlı kimliğine olan sadakatinin sorgulanmasından ziyade, üyesi olduğu tüm Osmanlı tebaası için erken sayılabilecek bir tarihte, modern bir anayasa tasarısı hazırlamış olması gerçeğinden hareket etmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bu çalışma, söz konusu bakış açısı ile ilerleyerek Rigas'ın Fransız ihtilalinin tesirinde eşitlik, adalet ve hürriyet gibi ilkeleri yaşadığı topraklarda canlandırmaya adadığı hayatını, etnik ayrım yapmaksızın kurduğu dostluklarını, ideallerini, eserlerini ve ortaya koyduğu anayasasını incelemektedir. Ayrıca ölümünden sonra Osmanlı anayasal hareketlerine olan etkisi araştırılırken nihayetinde Osmanlı sınırları içerisinde anayasal hareketlere dayalı fikirlerle kısıtlı da olsa bir karşılaştırması yapılmaktadır. Rigas gibi çok yönlü ve farklı perspektiflere göre farklı roller taşıyan bir tarihi karakteri ve düşüncelerini en özgün haliyle yansıtmak ayrı bir özveri dikkat istemektedir. Bu anlamda olabildiğince objektif ve her görüşe yer veren bir inceleme olmasına özellikle dikkat edilmiştir.

This study examines the life, ideals, friendships, and works of Rigas, a historical figure who is considered the father of Greek nationalism and who is known for his constitution, which he wrote while living in territories influenced by the French Revolution. Rather than questioning his loyalty to the Ottoman identity or how“Ottoman”he truly was, this study focuses on the fact that he created a modern constitution at an early time for all Ottoman subjects. In this context, the study delves into Rigas' life as he embodied the principles of equality, justice, and freedom, which were influenced by the French Revolution. It highlights his friendships and the ideals he held, as well as his works and the constitution he created, all without discriminating against any particular ethnic group. Additionally, the study investigates Rigas' posthumous influence on the Ottoman constitutional movement. Ultimately, a comparison is made between the constitutional ideas within Ottoman borders and Rigas' constitutional ideas, which were based on movements for freedom. As a multifaceted historical figure who played different roles depending on the perspective, it requires a significant effort to portray Rigas and his ideas in their purest form. Therefore, the study aims to be as objective as possible and to include all perspectives. In summary, this study examines Rigas, the Ottoman Empire, an idea of a constitution, the influence of the French Revolution, and the concept of equality.
