Özet
Islamic radicalization is not a new phenomenon yet combating it with a soft approach is a field that has attracted greater attention in the last decade. Under this soft approach counterradicalization and de-radicalization policies have gained importance in Europe and their establishment has spread to many Western European countries. In this context the dissertation will examine Britain and Denmark which among these European countries have become the two leading actors in counter-radicalization and de-radicalization respectively. By analyzing the implementation of these policies and programmes as well as touching upon the EU strategy, this dissertation will argue that the hidden goal behind these strategies is to govern the Muslim population. The dissertation will indicate how these programmes have become a tool for the governments to govern the Muslim population to in order to make them more liberal
