Özet (Çeviri)

The major problem in most of working places today is the efficiency within the specific time periods. Deadlines, fast pace working environment, and expectations can cause stress so this can directly make an influence on business decisions and have impact on relaxed working performance. According to (Strickland) Good decision-making became one of the most critical problems for managers to accomplish the goals of monitoring the success and development of a company. (Dincer & Gencer & Orhan & Sahinbas, 1999). It is undeniable that stress has major impact on productive work. Since we are human, we all have ups and downs, but when downs are more frequent than ups, this is signaling weak decisions that have been executed. In order to avoid these weak decisions, emotional intelligence has key role to play in the working place. The great barrier to skill acquisition isn't intellectual, it's not the process of you learning bunch of little tips or tricks, it's emotional. It also applies in the management of a team. The smartest person in the group isn't always the most efficient one according to Daniel Goleman. He says: ''The rules for work are changing. We're being judged by a new yardstick: not just by how smart we are, or by our training and expertise, but also by how well we handle ourselves and each other. This yardstick is increasingly applied in choosing who will be hired and who will not, who will be let go and who retained, who passed over and who promoted. The new rules predict who is most likely to become a star performer and who is most prone to derailing. And, no matter what field we work in currently, they measure the traits that are crucial to our marketability for future jobs. These rules have little to do with what we were told was important in school; academic abilities are largely irrelevant to this standard. The new measure takes for granted having enough intellectual ability and technical knowhow to do our jobs; it focuses instead on personal qualities, such as initiative and empathy, adaptability and persuasiveness.'' (Goleman, 1998) Therefore, in this research the main objective is to make a research and analysis about the topic of emotional intelligence, thereby to provide information and arguments about the related topic. On the other side, another objective is to improve efficiency of working places as a result of research and analysis. The last objective is to find out the opinions of 8 people on the topic of emotional intelligence applied in efficient decision-making process. As the world is open for any kind of surprises, COVID-19 has very big impact on human life. The participants of the interview were selected based on the common feature that they had to work from home during the global pandemic. There are 3 main things measured in the research: 1- The knowledge on emotional intelligence. 2- The reaction/personal experience of the people during the crisis and the impact on emotional intelligence while giving decisions in the lack of social interaction. 3- Comparison of working from home and office, understanding which way is better in terms of effectiveness. Main results obtained: 1- Global pandemic has important impact on decision-making process and the emotional state of the human. 2- People still want to work in the office, this was an opportunity to test whether or not they can work from home forever. 3- Human interaction is the number one priority for developing emotional intelligence. 4- Decisions are given equally by the heart and mind. 2 Keywords Emotions, Emotional Intelligence, Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Intelligence, ProblemSolving, Efficient Decision-Making
