This thesis delves into Wittgenstein's picture theory of meaning as expounded in his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, which conceptualizes propositions as pictorial representations mirroring states of affairs in the world. In this framework, words function akin to names, indicating objects, while their arrangement in sentences reflects the interrelations among these objects. By exploring the ramifications of this notion across logic, science, ethics, and aesthetics, the thesis elucidates how logic assumes a pivotal role in facilitating meaningful language, ensuring propositions accurately capture reality. Consequently, logical truths emerge as paramount, embodying the foundational structure of the world. However, ethics and aesthetics, characterized by their evocative nature and interpretative openness, may not conform to Wittgenstein's criteria for meaningful language, thereby prompting inquiry into their status. Conversely, scientific representation presents a distinct challenge; scientific statements, in Wittgenstein's view, constitute ideal propositions precisely mirroring reality, furnishing lucid and verifiable depictions of the world's workings. Thus, the thesis navigates the intricate interplay between science and logic, and ethics and aesthetics, within the framework of Wittgenstein's picture theory
