Özet
II. Dünya Savaşından sonra modern devlet teşkilatlarının çoğunluğu temsili demokrasi aracılığıyla yönetilmeye başlanmıştır. Seçen ve seçilenlerin öznesini oluşturduğu bu sistemin zeminini seçimler oluşturmaktadır. Sistemin meşruiyeti ise devletlerin anayasalarında belirtilen kurallar çerçevesinde önceden belirlenen zaman aralıklarıyla yeniden yapılan seçimler ile sağlamaktadır. Türkiye'de çok partili hayata geçilen 1950 yılı, demokrasi için özel bir dönemin miladıdır. Çalışmanın hazırlandığı 2023 yılına kadar geçen 73 yıllık süreç içerisinde gerçekleşen yirmi farklı milletvekili genel seçimi, tezin zamansal sınırlılığını oluşturmuştur. Seçimler ile ilgili kavramsal çerçevenin çizilmesi, Balıkesir ilinin sosyal, kültürel portesinin yansıtılması ve çalışma kapsamındaki seçim sonuçlarının hem Türkiye genelinde hem de Balıkesir özelinde karşılaştırılmak suretiyle benzer ve farklı yönlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tezde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden literatür analizi kullanılmıştır. Tez kapsamında toplanan ve karşılaştırılan veriler sonuç kısmında değerlendirilmiştir.

After the Second World War, the majority of modern state organizations began to have been governed through representative democracy. Elections constitute the basis of this system in which the electors and the elected ones are the subjects. The legitimacy of the system is ensured through elections held at predetermined time periods within the framework of the rules specified in the constitutions of the states. In Turkey, the transition to multi-party life in 1950 was the milestone of a special period for democracy. Twenty different parliamentary general election, which held in the 73-year process until 2023, constituted the temporal limitation of the thesis. It is aimed to draw the notional framework about the elections, to be reflected the social and cultural portrait of Balıkesir province and to be determined the similar and different viewpoints by comparing the election results both in Turkey in general and in Balıkesir in particular. Literature analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the thesis. The data collected and compared within the context of the thesis are evaluated in the conclusion section.
