Özet

Konstantinopolis'teki Stoudios Manastırında üretildiği bir kolofon aracılığıyla anlaşılan ve marjinal psalter olarak nitelendirilen Theodore Psalteri (Add MS 19352), Bizans el yazmaları arasında günümüze ulaşan en zengin içeriğe sahip litürjik el yazmalarından biridir. İkonoklastik tartışmalar sonrası üretilen bu el yazması bir litürji kitabı olmasına karşın, ikonofillerin görüşlerini destekleyen ve propaganda amacı taşıdığı düşünülen resimlerle zenginleştirilmiştir. Tez kapsamında, el yazmalarının üretimi süreci, Bizans manastırcılığı ve yazıcılığının önemi, Stoudios Manastırının bu alandaki tarihsel önemi ve katkıları, el yazmasının tarihlendiği dönemin siyasi, tarihsel durumu, yazma eseri resimleyen, yaptıran kişi, eserin adandığı kişi vb. bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Theodore Psalteri'nde İsa'nın yaşam döngüsü sahnelerindeki resimlerden bir katalog çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu katalogda resim-metin ilişkisi, ikonografik ve biçemsel analiz detaylı olarak ele alınmıştır.

Özet (Çeviri)

The Psalter of Theodore, characterised as a marginal psalter, is one of the richest surviving liturgical manuscripts among Byzantine manuscripts, which is understood to have been produced in the Stoudios Monastery in Constantinople through a colophon. Although this manuscript was produced in the aftermath of the iconoclastic debates, it is enriched with pictures that support the views of the iconophiles and are thought to carry propaganda purposes. Within the scope of the thesis, information on the production process of manuscripts, the importance of Byzantine monasticism and writing, the historical importance and contributions of the Stoudios Monastery in this field, the political and historical situation of the period in which the manuscript was dated, the person who illustrated the manuscript, the person who commissioned the work, the person to whom the work was dedicated, etc. are included. A catalogue of the paintings of the scenes of the life cycle of Jesus in the Psalter of Theodore was made. In this catalogue, the picture-text relationship, iconographic and stylistic analysis were discussed in detail.
