Özet

Bu araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinin engelli bireylere yönelik algıları ile sosyal-duygusal yetkinlikleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Kırıkkale Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi'nde eğitimine devam eden 615 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veriler üniversite öğrencilerinin tanıtıcı özelliklerini elde edebilmek amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Diğer ve Yıldız (2021) tarafından geliştirilen Engelli Bireylere Yönelik Algı Ölçeği ile Türkçeye uyarlaması Ay ve Temel (2021) tarafından yapılan Sosyal-Duygusal Yetkinlik Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler, istatistik programı ile Bağımsız Örneklemler T Testi, ANOVA Testi, Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda engelli bireylere yönelik algı ölçeğinin benimsemek alt boyutunda Beslenme ve Diyetetik Bölümü ile Sosyal Hizmet Bölümü öğrencilerinin, farkındalık alt boyutunda Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon ile Hemşirelik Bölümü öğrencilerinin, toplumsal çevre alt boyutunda ise Beslenme ve Diyetetik Bölümü öğrencilerinin puan ortalamalarının daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Gelir durumunu gelir gidere eşit olarak ifade eden, babaları lise mezunu olan, daha önce engellilerle çalışma deneyimi olmayan öğrencilerin engelli bireylere yönelik algı ölçeğine ait toplam puan ortalamaları diğer gruplara göre daha yüksektir. Ayrıca engellilerle ilgili ders alma durumunun engelli bireylere yönelik algı ölçeğinin sadece toplumsal çevre boyutunda anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturduğu belirlenmiştir. Kadın öğrencilerin, Çocuk Gelişimi Bölümüne devam eden öğrenciler ile Sosyal Hizmet Bölümü öğrencilerinin ve engelli bireylerle ilgili ders alan öğrencilerin sosyal duygusal yetkinlikleri daha yüksektir. Araştırmada sınıf, gelir durumu, anne baba öğrenim düzeyi, engelli tanıdık olma durumu, daha önce engellilerle çalışma durumu sosyal duygusal yetkinlik ölçeğine ait puanlarda anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturmamaktadır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin Engelli Bireylere Yönelik Algıları ile Sosyal Duygusal Yetkinlikleri arasında pozitif düşük düzeyde bir ilişki bulunmaktadır.

This research is aimed to examine the relationship between university students' perceptions of disabled individuals and their social and emotional competencies.The study group of the research is consisted of 615 university students continuing their education at Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Health Sciences.The data for the study were collected using the Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher in order to obtain the descriptive characteristics of university students, the Perception Scale for Individuals with Disabilities developed by Diğer ve Yıldız (2021) and the Social-Emotional Competence Scale adapted into Turkish by Ay ve Temel (2021).Data is analyzed using Independent Samples T Test, ANOVA Test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient with statistical package program.As a result of the research, it is determined that the mean scores of the students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Social Work is higher in the acceptance sub-dimension of the perception scale towards disabled individuals, the students of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nursing is higher in the sub-dimension of awareness, and the students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is higher in the social environment sub-dimension.The students who express their income as equal to income and expenses, whose fathers are high school graduates and who have no previous experience of working with disabled people's total score averages of the perception scale towards disabled individuals is higher than other groups.Also, it has been determined that status of taking courses regarding disabled people made a meaningful difference only in the perception scale towards disabled individuals is only in the social environment dimension. Female students, students attending the Department of Child Development, students of the Department of Social Work, and students taking courses on disabled individuals have higher social emotional competencies. In the researh; class, income level, parents' education level, being acquainted with a disabled person, and having previously worked with disabled people do not create a significant difference in the scores of the social emotional competence scale. Also there is a connection which is positive - low level between students' perceptions towards disabled individuals and their social sensory competencies.
