Özet

In this paper, Social Value Orientation (SVO) was introduced as a framework for categorizing individual differences in other-concerning preferences. The paper aimed to explore whether SVO, measured by the SVO slider measure, could predict cooperation choices in a classic prisoner's dilemma game. The methodology included explaining SVO and justifying the measurement method, presenting studies using the SVO slider measure, creating a utility function with other-regarding preferences using SVO data, and constructing an online survey to investigate the predictive relationship between SVO and cooperation choices in the prisoner's dilemma game. The chi-square analysis found significant relationships between Social Value Orientation (SVO) and behavior in the Prisoner's Dilemma (PD) game. I employed binary logistic regression to examine the significance of the SVO Slider Measure variable as a predictor for the PD Game. The results from the Omnibus Tests demonstrated the significance of the model. Furthermore, based on the Nagelkerke R Square test, the SVO Slider Measure variable significantly accounted for 57% of the variability in the PD Game variable. I re-examined the predictiveness of SVO while also incorporating age and gender factors. According to the logistic regression model including SVO, Age, and Gender, gender and age were not identified as significant predictors for the classification of PD Game.
