Circles of support and accountability, or Circles, which was developed to support high risk/high needs sexual offenders by using volunteers from local community to support sex offenders for a successful reintegration, have a positive effect on recidivism rates. However, non-completion of a Circle may be an issue. This dissertation used a secondary dataset which was routinely collected from 100 male sex offenders ('core members') in England and Wales supported by a Circle from 2007 to 2013, and focused on the impact of following variables; age, risk level, having received intervention before and family contact status, on the completion or non-completion of a Circle amongst sex offenders. The secondary dataset was analysed by conducting a series of chi-squared analyses and a binary logistic regression analysis. The findings of this study revealed that very high risk (according to Risk Matrix 2000 S-Scale) was statistically significant in predicting the completion or non-completion of a Circle whereas this study was failed to capture a statistical significance for other variables; age, previously received intervention and family contact status. Further research is needed to explain the reasons for withdrawals from a Circle early.
