Özet

İklim değişikliği giderek artarak iklim krizine dönüşmüş ve yerküreyi tehdit eder hale gelmiştir. İklim krizi canlı ve cansız tüm varlıkları ve ekosistemi olumsuz olarak etkilemektedir. Uluslararası toplum Birleşmiş Milletler (BM) çerçvesinde oluşturulan küresel iklim rejimi çerçevesinde yaklaşık otuz senedir iklim değişikliği ile mücadele etmektedir. İklim değişikliğinin yıkıcı sonuçları ve içinde bulunduğumuz süreç sürdürülemez bir iklim krizi olarak tanımlanmıştır. İklim değişikliği kapsamında teknik çalışmaların yanında hakkaniyet, adalet ve etik konularının da dikkate alınması gereklidir.Doktora tez çalışmasında felsefenin eleştirel yöntemi kullanılmış ve bulgular üç bölüm halinde sunulmuştur. İlk bölümde küresel iklim krizi ve çevre etiği kavramsal çerçeve olarak belirlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde Birleşmiş Milletler 'in (BM) küresel iklim krizi sorununa yönelik faaliyetleri konusu araştırılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise Birleşmiş Milletler (BM) kapsamında iklim değişikliği ile mücadele konusunda gerçekleştirilen BMİDÇS, Kyoto Protokolü ve Paris İklim Anlaşması incelenerek çevre etiği kavramının ne derece geçerli olduğu irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Sonuç kısmında ise hipotez vearaştırma soruları kapsamında önermelerin geçerliliği anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında iklim değişikliği ile küresel mücadele konusunda yapılan faaliyetlerin ve sözleşmelerin çevre etiği açısından etkin ve yeterli olmaktan uzak olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Climate change has increasingly become a climate crisis and has reached a level that threatens The Earth. The climate crisis negatively affects all living beings, as well as the ecosystem. The international community has been struggling with climate change fornearly 30 years within the framework of the global climate regime established by the UN.The devastating consequences of climate change and ongoing processes have been described as an unsustainable climate crisis. The global struggle has also necessitated ethical evaluation. In addition to technical studies on climate change, equity, justice and ethical issues must also be considered.The critical method of philosophy was employed in the study and the findingswere presented in three sections. Foremost, the Global Climate Crisis and Environmental Ethics were determined as the conceptual framework. In the following section, the activities of the UN towards the Global Climate crisis problem were examined. In the third section, the study analyzed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Climate Agreement that were carried out within the scope of the UN on the fight against climate change and validated their application to the concept of Environmental Ethics. In the conclusion section, the validity of the propositions was examined within the scope of study hypotheses and the relevant research questions. The study concludes by determining that, the activities and agreements implemented concerning the global fight against climate change are far from effective and sufficient in terms of environmental ethics.
