Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Scratch programı aracılığıyla araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan eğitsel oyunların, 6. sınıf fen bilimleri dersindeki öğrenci motivasyonlarına olan etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 6. sınıf fen bilimleri dersi 'Vücudumuzdaki Sistemler' ünitesi 'Sindirim Sistemi' konusuna yönelik araştırmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılı güz döneminde Nevşehir ilinde bulunan, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 66 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kontrol grubu öğrencilerine geleneksel öğretim yöntemi uygulanırken deney grubu öğrencilerine ise araştırmacı tarafından Scratch programı aracılığıyla hazırlanan eğitsel oyunlar etkinliği uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak 'Fen Öğrenimine Yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği' (FÖYMÖ) kullanılmıştır. Yapılan uygulamalar sonucunda elde edilen nicel veriler SPSS programında analiz edilerek çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde t-testi ve Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda, kontrol ve deney grubu öğrencilerinin motivasyon ölçeğinden aldıkları ön test-son test puanlarında istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilemezken, deney grubu öğrencilerinin motivasyon ölçeğinde ki 'öz yeterlilik' alt boyutunda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of educational games developed by the researcher using the Scratch program on the motivation of 6th-grade students in science classes. In line with this objective, research was conducted on the“Digestive System”topic within the“Body Systems”unit of the 6th-grade science curriculum. The study group consists of 66 students enrolled in a public middle school affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Nevşehir, Turkey, during the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group, one of the quantitative research methods, was employed in the study. While the control group students followed a traditional lesson plan, the experimental group students participated in an educational game activity developed by the researcher using the Scratch program. The“Motivation Scale for Science Learning”(FÖYMÖ) was used as the data collection tool. The quantitative data obtained from the study were analyzed using the SPSS program. For data analysis, the t-test and Mann-Whitney U test were applied. The analysis revealed no statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test scores of the motivation scale for the experimental group students. However, a statistically significant difference was found in the“self-efficacy”sub-dimension of the motivation scale.
