Özet

Ahlâk konusu, insanlık için en önemli meselelerden biridir. Kur'an'ın nüzülüyle birlikte ahlâk kavramı daha da önem kazanmış ve İslam düşüncesinde imandan sonra, üzerinde durulan ikinci ana tema olarak kabul edilmiştir. Çalışmamızda geniş bir literatüre sahip olan ahlâk konusunun incelenmesinde, özel olarak çağdaş dönem müfessirlerinden Muhammed Esed'in Kur'an Mesajı (The Message of the Qur'an) adlı eseri temel alınmıştır. Bu tercihimizin sebebi, Kur'an'ın ahlâki prensiplerinin bu eserde özenle vurgulanmasıdır. Kur'an, ayetleri çağları aşan evrensel ilkeler sunan bir kitaptır. Ancak günümüz insanı, Kur'an'ın mesajlarını tam anlamıyla kavrayamadığından veya kavramak istemediğinden, bu ilkeleri yer yer ihmal etmektedir. Bu bağlamda, Muhammed Esed'in günümüz insanlarına yönelik kaleme aldığı tefsiri onun özgün fikirleriyle tebarüz etmiştir. Çalışma hem Kur'an ahlâkının temel ilkelerini hem de bu ilkelerin günümüz dünyasına yönelik uygulanabilirliğine dair Esed'in yorumlarını ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmamız giriş ve iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde ahlâkın tanımı, ahlâkın konusu, Muhammed Esed'in hayatı ve eserleri Kur'an Mesajı'nın özellikleri gibi temel konular ele alınmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, Kur'an'da emredilen ahlâkî ilkelerin Kur'an Mesajı' ndaki yorumları tahlil edilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Kur'an'da nehyedilen ilkeler Muhammed Esed'in yorumları ışığında analiz edilmiştir.

Morality has been one of the most significant issues for humanity since the time of Prophet Adam. With the revelation of the Qur'an, the concept of morality gained even greater prominence and has been regarded as the third fundamental theme in Islamic thought, following faith (īmān) and worship ('ibādah). In examining the subject of morality, which has a wide body of literature, special reference has been made to the work of contemporary exegete Muhammad Asad, The Message of the Qur'an. The reason for this choice is that the moral principles of the Qur'an are carefully emphasised in this work. The Qur'an is a book that presents universal principles that transcend time. However, people today fail to fully comprehend the message of the Qur'an by neglecting this universality. In this context, Muhammad Esed's interpretation, written for people today, stands out with his original ideas. This work aims to examine both the fundamental principles of Qur'anic ethics and Esed's interpretations of their applicability to the contemporary world. The study consists of an introduction and two main chapters. The introduction covers fundamental topics such as the definition of morality, its subject matter, Muhammad Asad's life and works, and the distinctive features of The Message of the Qur'an. The first chapter analyzes Asad's interpretations of the moral principles that are commanded in the Qur'an. The second chapter, on the other hand, examines the moral prohibitions found in the Qur'an through the lens of Asad's tafsir.
