The Effect Of Stroke Countıng Exercıses Applıed By Dıfferent Age Group Swımmers On Swımmıng Performance And Stroke Parameters Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of stroke counting exercises applied in training to swimmers of different ages on their swimming performance. Method: A total of 40 volunteer swimmers, male and female, aged 9-11 and 12-14, with at least 2 years of training history in Kocaeli Mercan Sports Club, participated in the research. Height and body weight measurements of the athletes, as well as 100 meters freestyle swimming pre and post-tests were taken. In the study, stroke counting exercises were applied to the experimental group by including them in micro-training programs for 6 weeks, and the control group was asked to continue their training. The stroke parameters of each swimmer were calculated by taking the total number of arms and the swimming times obtained from the pre- and post-tests of the participants. Repeated anova measurements were made. The analyzes of the obtained data were made with the analysis of variance in repeated measurements in the SPSS 22.0 package program. The significance level was taken as p<0.05. Result: When the 100-meter pre-tests of the swimmers were evaluated between the experimental and control groups, a significant difference was found in stroke frequency and stroke tempo at the age of 9-11 (p<0.05). Between the pre-post tests of the experimental group, there was a significant difference in swimming performance and stroke parameters (p<0.05), and there was a significant difference in the changes of the groups over time in the stroke frequencies (p<0.05). A significant difference was found in swimming performance, stroke length and swimming speed parameters of 12-14 age group swimmers (p<0.05). It was observed that the improvement percentages of the athletes increased after the exercises. Conclusion: In conclusion, although stroke counting exercises improve swimming performance and stroke parameters in both age groups, it can be said that these types of exercises are more effective on performance, especially in the 9-11 age group.
