Özet
Sürdürülebilirlik, doğal kaynakların korunması, ekonomik ve sosyal refahın artırılması açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Ekoturizm, doğal alanların korunmasını desteklerken yerel kalkınmaya katkıda bulunan bir turizm türü olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, Yozgat ili Akdağmadeni ilçesinde ekoturizm potansiyelini değerlendirmek ve mevcut eksiklikleri belirleyerek sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya yönelik öneriler sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında, yerel halkın ekoturizm algısı ve farkındalığını belirlemek için demografik veriler analiz edilmiş, ekoturizm faaliyetlerine katılım düzeyleri incelenmiş ve ekoturizmin yerel kalkınma üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular, doğa yürüyüşü (trekking), bisiklet turizmi ve kültür turizminin en çok tercih edilen ekoturizm faaliyetleri olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ancak, altyapı eksiklikleri, yerel yönetimlerin politika eksikliği ve halkın bilinç düzeyinin düşük olması gibi unsurlar, bölgenin ekoturizm potansiyelinin tam anlamıyla değerlendirilememesine neden olmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, Akdağmadeni ilçesinin ekoturizm destinasyonu olarak gelişebilmesi için yerel yönetimlerin destekleyici politikalar geliştirmesi, toplumun ekoturizm konusunda bilinçlendirilmesi, altyapının güçlendirilmesi ve doğa turizmine yönelik tanıtım faaliyetlerinin artırılması gerekmektedir. Bu doğrultuda önerilen stratejik planlama çalışmaları hem bölgenin ekonomik kalkınmasını destekleyecek hem de doğal ve kültürel mirasın korunmasına katkı sağlayacaktır.

Sustainability is of great importance in terms of protecting natural resources and increasing economic and social welfare. Ecotourism stands out as a type of tourism that contributes to local development while supporting the protection of natural areas. In this thesis study, it is aimed to evaluate the ecotourism potential in Akdağmadeni district of Yozgat province and to provide suggestions for sustainable development by identifying existing deficiencies. Within the scope of the research, demographic data were analyzed to determine the perception and awareness of local people on ecotourism, the level of participation in ecotourism activities was examined and the effects of ecotourism on local development were evaluated. The findings revealed that trekking, bicycle tourism and cultural tourism are the most preferred ecotourism activities. However, factors such as infrastructure deficiencies, lack of policies of local governments and low level of public awareness cause the ecotourism potential of the region not to be fully utilized. In conclusion, in order for Akdağmadeni district to develop as an ecotourism destination, local governments should develop supportive policies, raise awareness of the society on ecotourism, strengthen the infrastructure and increase promotional activities for nature tourism. The strategic planning studies proposed in this direction will both support the economic development of the region and contribute to the protection of natural and cultural heritage
