Özet
Bu araştırmada amaç, beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin mesleki motivasyonları ile kişilik özellikleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi olarak belirlenmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modeliyle yürütülen araştırmanın evrenini 2023-2024 yılı eğitim-öğretim bahar dönemi içerisinde Sakarya ilinde görev yapan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise bahsedilen evren içerisinden kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 87'si kadın, 159'u erkek toplam 246 beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenleri oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Uğraş (2007) tarafından geliştirilen“Mesleki Motivasyon Ölçeği”, Tatar (2017) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan“Büyük Beş-50 Kişilik Testi”ve araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan“Kişisel Bilgi Formu”kullanılmıştır. Verilere uygulanacak analizlere karar vermek için normallik analizi uygulanmış ve verilerin normal dağılıma uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir. Verilerin istatistiksel analizlerinde; betimsel istatistikler, bağımsız gruplar t-testi, Pearson korelasyon ve Regresyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcılardan elde edilen bulguların ışığı altında; beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin mesleki motivasyonlarında cinsiyet, okul türü ve medeni durumuna göre anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmemiştir (p>.05). Araştırmaya katılan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin kişilik özelliklerinde okul türü değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılık olmadığı (p>.05); cinsiyet ve medeni duruma göre ise anlamlı farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p<.05). Bağımlı değişlenler arasındaki sonuçlar incelendiğinde mesleki motivasyon ile kişilik özellikleri arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p<.05). Dahası kişilik özelliklerinin mesleki motivasyon üzerinde anlamlı yordayıcı güce sahip olduğu ortaya konmuştur (p<.05). Beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin okul içerisinde taşıdığı sorumlulukları ve öğrencilere olan yaklaşımları, onların okulda aslında neden daha sevilen ve popüler kimseler olduklarına dair ipuçları vermektedir. Mesleğine bağlı olan, mesleğini seven ve özellikle mesleki anlamda motivasyonu üst düzeyde olan bir beden eğitimi öğretmeninin okulda başarılı olmasının kaçınılmaz olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bunların olabilmesi aslında bireyin kişilik özellikleri ile doğrudan bağlantılıdır. Nitekim araştırma sonuçları da göz önünde bulunduracak olursak kişilik ve mesleki motivasyon arasındaki pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler, pozitif bir kişiliğe ve pozitif kişilik özelliklerine sahip olan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerimizin mesleki motivasyonlarının da bundan olumlu etkilendiğini ortaya çıkarmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between physical education and sports teachers' professional motivation and personality traits. The population of the research, which was conducted with the relational survey model, consists of physical education and sports teachers working in Sakarya province in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample of the study consisted of 246 physical education and sports teachers, 87 of whom were female and 159 of whom were male, selected by convenience sampling method.“Professional Motivation Scale”developed by Uğraş (2007), 'Big Five-50 Personality Test' adapted into Turkish by Tatar (2017) and 'Personal Information Form' created by the researcher were used as data collection tools. In order to decide on the analyses to be applied to the data, normality analysis was applied and it was determined that the data were suitable for normal distribution. Descriptive statistics, independent groups t-test, Pearson correlation and Regression analyses were used in the statistical analysis of the data. In the light of the findings obtained from the participants as a result of the research; no significant difference was found in the professional motivation of physical education and sports teachers according to gender, school type and marital status (p>.05). It was determined that there was no significant difference in the personality traits of the physical education and sports teachers participating in the study according to the type of school variable (p>.05), while there was a significant difference according to gender and marital status (p<.05). When the results between the dependent variables were analyzed, it was determined that there was a significant positive relationship between professional motivation and personality traits (p<.05). Moreover, it was revealed that personality traits have a significant predictive power on professional motivation (p<.05). The responsibilities of physical education and sports teachers in the school and their approaches to students give clues as to why they are actually more popular and popular people in the school. It is thought that it is inevitable that a physical education teacher who is committed to his/her profession, who loves his/her profession and who has a high level of professional motivation will be successful at school. In fact, these are directly related to the personality traits of the individual. As a matter of fact, considering the results of the research, the positive and significant relationships between personality and professional motivation revealed that the professional motivation of our physical education and sports teachers who have a positive personality and positive personality traits is positively affected by this.
