Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma kolorektal kanserli hastalarda mobil sağlık uygulaması kullanımının kemoterapi yan etkileri ile ilişkili semptomların kontrolüne etkisini incelemek amacıyla, ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel çalışma olarak gerçekleştirildi. Gereç ve Yöntem: Örneklem (Mart 2023-Nisan 2024) bir eğitim araştırma hastanesinde kolorektal kanser tanısıyla ayaktan kemoterapi uygulanan hastalardır (35 girişim ve 35 kontrol). Veriler Hasta Bilgi Formu, Kanser Tedavisinde Fonksiyonel Değerlendirme-Kolorektal Ölçeği (FACT-C), Nightingale Semptom Değerlendirme Ölçeği (N-SDÖ), Öz Bakım Gereksinimlerini Değerlendirme Formu ve Mobil Sağlık Uygulaması Eğitimini Değerlendirme Formu ile elde edildi. Bulgular: Gruplar kişisel özellikler açısından homojen dağılım göstermiştir (meslek hariç) (p > 0,05). Girişim grubunda tüm alt boyutlar ve FACT-C toplam ölçek son test puanı kontrol grubunun puanına göre daha yüksek bulundu. Girişim grubunda tüm alt boyutlar ve N-SDÖ toplam ölçek son test puanı kontrol grubunun puanına göre daha düşük bulundu. Gruplar arasında FACT-C ve N-SDÖ'nde yer alan yorgunluk, iştahsızlık, bulantı ve kusma ve ağrı maddeleri son test yanıtları arasında anlamlı ilişki saptandı (p < 0,05). İstatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmamakla birlikte, girişim grubunda Öz Bakım Gereksinimlerini Değerlendirme Formu son test puanı (55,57 ± 1,57) kontrol grubunun puanına göre (51,29 ± 5,84) daha yüksektir. Mobil sağlık uygulamasıyla eğitimden memnuniyet yüksek (8,32 ± 1,09) düzeydedir. Sonuç: Çalışmada, mobil sağlık uygulamasıyla verilen eğitimin kolorektal kanserli hastalarda semptom kontrolü ve yaşam kalitesine olumlu etkisi olduğu gösterilmiştir.

Aim: An experimental study with a pre-test/post-test control group design was conducted to examine the effect of mobile health application use on the control of symptoms that may arise due to chemotherapy side effects in patients with colorectal cancer. Materials and Methods: The study sample consisted of patients (35 intervention and 35 control) who underwent outpatient chemotherapy for colorectal cancer in the outpatient clinic of a training and research hospital between March 2023 and April 2024. Data were obtained using the Patient Information Form, Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Colorectal (FACT-C) scale, Nightingale Symptom Assessment Scale (N-SAS), Self-Care Needs Assessment Form and Mobile Health Application Training Evaluation Form. Results: The intervention and control groups showed homogeneous distribution in terms of personal characteristics (except for profession) (p > 0.05). The intervention group showed higher post-test scores in all FACT-C sub-dimensions and the total score, while scoring lower in the N-SAS sub-dimensions and total score compared to the control group. A significant correlation was observed between posttest responses of fatigue, appetite loss, nausea, vomiting, and pain between the groups. Although not statistically significant, the intervention group had a higher posttest score on the Self-Care Needs Assessment Form. Those who used the mobile health application reported a high level of satisfaction with the education provided. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the education provided by mobile health applications has a positive effect on the quality of life of patients with colorectal cancer.
