Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir yardım kuruluşuna başvuran kadınların depresyon ve anksiyete düzeyleri ile algılanan sosyal destek, yaşam kalitesi ve sosyodemografik değişkenler arasındaki ilişkileri incelemektir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeli ile yürütülmüş olup çalışma grubunu, İzmir ilinde sosyal yardıma başvuran 45 kadın katılımcı oluşturmaktadır. Veriler; Beck Depresyon Envanteri (BDI), Beck Anksiyete Envanteri (BAI), DSÖ Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği (WHOQOL-BREF), Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği (MSPSS) ve SCL-90-R Belirti Tarama Listesi ile toplanmış olup verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistiksel yöntemlerin yanı sıra Spearman korelasyon analizi, Kruskal-Wallis testi ve tek örneklem t-testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular, katılımcıların depresyon ve anksiyete düzeylerinin yüksek olduğunu; sosyal destek ve yaşam kalitesi düzeylerinin ise psikolojik iyi oluş üzerinde belirleyici rol oynadığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca ekonomik durum, yaş ve çocuk sayısı gibi sosyodemografik değişkenlerin psikolojik belirtiler üzerinde anlamlı etkiler yarattığı saptanmıştır. Sosyal destek düzeyinin, özellikle depresyon ve anksiyete düzeylerini azaltıcı, yaşam kalitesini artırıcı etkisi dikkat çekicidir. Bu çalışma, sosyal yardıma başvuran kadınların ruhsal durumlarının anlaşılmasına katkı sağlamayı ve sosyal destek sistemlerinin güçlendirilmesinin önemine vurgu yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın bulguları ilgili alanyazına göre tartışılmış ve gelecekte yapılabilecek çalışmalar önerilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between depression and anxiety levels of women who applied to a charity organization and their perceived social support, quality of life, and sociodemographic variables. The research was conducted using a relational survey model, and the study group consisted of 45 women who applied for social assistance in the city of İzmir. Data were collected using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), WHO Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-BREF), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the SCL-90-R Symptom Checklist. In addition to descriptive statistical methods, Spearman correlation analysis, Kruskal-Wallis test, and one-sample t-test were used for data analysis. The findings revealed that participants had high levels of depression and anxiety, while perceived social support and quality of life played a significant role in their psychological well-being. Furthermore, sociodemographic variables such as economic status, age, and number of children were found to have a significant impact on psychological symptoms. Notably, higher levels of perceived social support were associated with lower levels of depression and anxiety and higher quality of life. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the mental health status of women applying for social assistance and to emphasize the importance of strengthening social support systems. The findings were discussed in line with the existing literature, and recommendations for future research were provided.
