Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 7. Sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersinin eğitsel oyun yöntemiyle işlenmesinin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve öğrenmede kalıcılığına etkisini ölçmektir. Eğitimde, öğrenmenin kalıcılığı hem sistem için hem de öğrenci için öneme sahiptir. Bu sebeple öğretim sürecinde kullanılan yeni yaklaşımların ve yöntemlerin kullanımını gerekli kılmaktadır. Öğretim sürecinde kullanılan eğitsel oyunlar öğrencilerin derslere karşı olan tutumunu değiştirmekte, eğlenceli vakit geçirmelerini sağlamakta ve öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılığını sağlamada etkili bir yöntem olarak bilinmektedir. Eğitsel oyunlar, genellikle dijital oyunlar olarak bilinse de masa oyunları ya da kutu oyunları adıyla da bilinen oyunlar da eğitim sürecinde başvurulabilecek yöntemlerden biridir. Araştırmada nitel ve nicel verilerin birlikte kullanıldığı açıklayıcı karma araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma ön test ve son test, tek gruplu yarı deneysel desenle yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, İzmir'in Buca ilçesinde Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı bir ortaokulda öğrenim görmekte olan 7. Sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın uygulama sürecinde,“Küresel Bağlantılar”öğrenme alanında bulunan kazanımlarla oluşturulmuş ve toplamda 4 hafta sürmüştür.“Küresel Bağlantılar”öğrenme alanında bulunan kavramların kart haline getirilmesiyle birlikte öğrenci düzeyine göre bu kartlar oyun sürecine dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak ön test, son test ve kalıcılık testi uygulanmıştır. Oyun etkinliği sonrasında öğrencilerin ve dersin öğretmeninin de görüşleri alınmıştır. Çalışmanın analiz aşamasında nicel verilerin ölçümü SPSS.25 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) paket programı ile yapılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen çalışmanın sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, oyunla öğretim etkinliğinin son test ölçümlerinde ön test ölçümlerine göre akademik başarı açısından anlamlı derecede yükseliş gösterdiği ve kalıcılık ölçümlerinde de son test sonuçlarına yakın veriler elde edildiği, anlamlı bir değişikliğin olmadığı görülmüştür. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, eğitsel oyun yönteminin Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde kullanılmasının öğrencinin akademik başarısını yükselttiği ve kalıcılığı sağlamada etkili olduğu ve öğrencilerin eğitsel oyun yöntemine yönelik olumlu bir görüşe sahip oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to measure the effect of the 7th Grade Social Studies course by educational play method on the academic achievements of the students and their permanence in learning. In education, permanence of learning is important for both the system and the student. For this reason, new approaches and methods are required in the teaching process. Educational games used in the teaching process change the attitude of the students towards the lessons, enable them to have fun, and have an effective method of ensuring the permanence of the learned information. Although educational games are generally known as digital games, games, also known as table games or box games, are also one of the teaching methods in the education process. An explanatory mixed research method was used, where qualitative and quantitative data were used together. The research was conducted with a pre-test and post-test, single-group quasi-experimental design. The study group of the study consisted of 7th-grade students studying in a secondary school of the Ministry of National Education in the Buca district of İzmir. In the implementation process of the research,“Global Connections”was created with gains in the field of learning and lasted a total of 4 weeks. As the concepts in the“Global Connections”learning area became cards, these cards were included in the game process according to the student level. Pre-test, post-test, and permanence test were applied as data collection tools in the research. After the game activity, the opinions of the students and the course teacher were also taken. During the analysis phase of the study, quantitative data measurement was made with SPSS.25 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) package program. When the results of the study were evaluated, it was seen that the teaching activity with the game increased significantly in terms of academic achievement according to the pre-test measurements in the post-test measurements and that there was no significant change in the last test results and there was no significant change. According to the results obtained, it was concluded that the use of the educational play method in the Social Studies course increased the academic success of the students and was effective in providing permanence and that the students had a positive opinion about the teaching method.
