Özet

Bu çalışma, Giorgio Agamben'in felsefi metinlerini temele alarak bu felsefi metinlerde merkeziliği artık kabul edilmiş olan potansiyellik kavramını, bu kavram aracılığıyla Agamben'in çağdaş problemlere olan müdahalesini ve bu müdahalenin sonuçlarını incelemeyi amaçlamıştır.“Felaketin aciliyeti”çerçevesinde öne sürülen problemler ve müdahaleler, potansiyellik kavramıyla organik olarak birbirine bağlanan, insan yaşamına sızmış ancak toplumsal ve politik düşüncenin merceklerinde gizli kalmış potansiyelsizlik, işlemezlik, istenç, kullanım gibi kavramlar aracılığıyla genişletilmiş ve tartışılmıştır. Bu kavramsal eksendeki çalışma temel olarak Agamben'in“felaket”betimlemesinin ve bu durumdan çıkış yoluna yönelik“aciliyet”arayışının bir ve aynı kavram, yani potansiyellik kavramı üzerinden örgütlendiğine yönelik bir argüman yapısı kurmayı hedeflemekte ve Agamben'i bizi tarihsel bir çıkmaza ya da saf politikaya değil, yaşamın bütün imkanlarıyla yeniden düşünülmesini mümkün kılan radikal bir politika anlayışına götüren bir düşünür olarak okumaya çalışmaktadır.

This study, based on the philosophical texts of Giorgio Agamben, aims to examine the concept of potentiality, the centrality of which is now widely recognized in his work, and through this concept, explores Agamben's intervention in contemporary problems along with the consequences of this intervention. The problems and interventions proposed within the framework of the“urgency of catastrophe”are expanded and discussed through concepts such as impotentiality, inoperativity, will, and use; all of which are organically linked to the concept of potentiality, having permeated human life yet remained hidden from the lenses of social and political thought. Within this conceptual axis, this work primarily seeks to establish an argumentative structure asserting that Agamben's description of“catastrophe”and his search for“urgency”toward a way out are organized through one and the same concept, namely the concept of potentiality, and it attempts to read Agamben not as a thinker who leads us into a historical impasse or toward pure politics, but as one who guides us toward a radical understanding of politics that enables a rethinking of life with all its possibilities.
