Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı“Canlılarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme”ünitesinin bilimsel öyküler içeren eğitsel oyunlarla öğretiminin 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarına, fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutumlarına etkisi ile bu öğretime yönelik öğrencilerin görüşlerini tespit etmektir. Araştırmada karma desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Kars ilinin bir ilçesine bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 15 öğrenci ile diğer ortaokulda öğrenim gören 28 öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 43 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Bir ortaokuldaki 15 öğrenci araştırmanın kontrol grubundaki öğrencileri, diğer ortaokuldaki 28 öğrenci araştırmanın deney grubunu oluşturmuşlardır. Araştırmada nicel veri toplama araçları olarak“Canlılarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme Ünitesine Yönelik Başarı Testi”,“Fen Bilimleri Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel veri toplama aracı olarak“Canlılarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme Ünitesinin Bilimsel Öyküler İçeren Eğitsel Oyunlarla Öğretimine Yönelik Yazılı Görüşme Formu”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada öncelikle başarı testi ile ölçekler kontrol ve deney grubundaki öğrencilere ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulamaları dört haftada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulamaları sonrasında başarı testi ile ölçekler kontrol ve deney grubundaki öğrencilere son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubundaki öğrencilerin ünitenin bilimsel öyküler içeren eğitsel oyunlarla öğretimine yönelik yazılı görüşleri alınmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinin analizi SPSS paket programında yapılmıştır. Nitel verilerin de içerik analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel sonucunda“Canlılarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme”ünitesinin bilimsel öyküler içeren eğitsel oyunlarla öğretiminin deney grubundaki 7.sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarını ve fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutumlarını artırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel sonucunda ünitenin bilimsel öyküler içeren eğitsel oyunlarla öğretimi öncesinde öğrencilerin çoğunun dersin eğlenceli geçeceğini düşündükleri, çok sevindikleri, mutlu oldukları, üniteyi daha iyi öğreneceklerini düşündükleri şeklinde görüş bildirdikleri belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin çoğunun eğitsel oyunları oynarken heyecan, eğlence, mutluluk hissettikleri, eğitsel oyunların çok hoşlarına gittiği, eğitsel oyunların çok güzel, eğlenceli, öğretici olduğu, eğitse oyunların sınıf ortamına uygun olduğu, eğitse oyunları rahatça oynadıkları, eğitsel oyunların yeterli olduğu, öğretmenlerinin eğitsel oyunlara yönelik her şeyi düşündüğü, eğitsel oyunlardan önce kendilerine okunan bilimsel öykülerin dikkatlerini çektiği, güzel kurgulandıkları, bilimsel öykülerin öğretici, merak uyandırıcı olduğu, bilimsel öykülerin eğitsel oyunlarla ilişkili olduğu, bilimsel öyküler ile eğitsel oyunların bilgilendirici ve öğretici olduğu, bilimsel öyküler ile eğitsel oyunların eğlenceli olduğu şeklinde görüş bildirdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak ünitenin bilimsel öyküler içeren eğitsel oyunlarla ünitenin öğretimi sonucu deney grubundaki öğrencilerin üniteyi daha iyi anladıkları, eğlendikleri, bilgilerin zihinlerindeki kalıcılığının arttığı, hatırlamalarını kolaylaştırdığı, ünite ile ilgili soruları daha rahat çözdükleri şeklinde görüş bildirdikleri belirlenmiştir.

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of teaching the“Reproduction, Growth, and Development in Living Organisms”unit using educational games with scientific stories on the academic achievement and attitudes towards science of 7th-grade students, and to identify the students' opinions regarding this teaching method. A mixed-methods design was used in the research. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 43 students: 15 students from one middle school and 28 students from another middle school in a district of Kars province. The 15 students from one middle school formed the control group, and the 28 students from the other middle school formed the experimental group. In the research, the“Achievement Test for the Unit on Reproduction, Growth and Development in Living Organisms”and the“Attitude Scale Towards Science Lessons”were used as quantitative data collection tools. The“Written Interview Form for Teaching the Unit on Reproduction, Growth and Development in Living Organisms with Educational Games Containing Scientific Stories”was used as a qualitative data collection tool. In the research, the achievement test and scales were first administered as pre-tests to students in the control and experimental groups. The research applications were carried out over four weeks. Following the research applications, achievement tests and scales were administered as post-tests to students in both the control and experimental groups. Additionally, written opinions were collected from students in the experimental group regarding the teaching of the unit using educational games containing scientific stories. Quantitative data analysis was performed using the SPSS software package. Content analysis was also conducted for qualitative data. The quantitative results of the research showed that teaching the“Reproduction, Growth, and Development in Living Organisms”unit using educational games containing scientific stories increased the academic achievement and attitudes towards science lessons of 7th-grade students in the experimental group. The qualitative results of the study revealed that before the unit was taught using educational games containing scientific stories, most students expressed that they thought the lesson would be fun, that they were very happy and pleased, and that they thought they would learn the unit better. Most students stated that they felt excitement, fun, and happiness while playing the educational games; that they really liked the games; that the educational games were very nice, fun, and instructive; that the educational games were suitable for the classroom environment; that they played the educational games comfortably; that the educational games were sufficient; that their teachers had thought of everything regarding the educational games; that the scientific stories read to them before the educational games attracted their attention; and that they were well-structured. it was determined that the participants expressed the opinion that scientific stories are instructive and thought-provoking, that scientific stories are related to educational games, that scientific stories and educational games are informative and instructive, and that scientific stories and educational games are fun. Finally, it was determined that as a result of teaching the unit with educational games containing scientific stories, the students in the experimental group expressed the opinion that they understood the unit better, enjoyed it, the information was retained in their minds more, their recall was facilitated, and they solved the questions related to the unit more easily.
