Özet
Değişme yaşamın ve doğanın mutlak özelliğidir (Kongar,1985). Doğa sürekli bir değişim ve gelişim içerisindedir. Doğadaki tüm canlılar doğum ile başlayan ve ölüme dek uzanan yaşamlarında büyürler, gelişirler ve değişirler. İnsan bu sistemin içinde yaşayan bir canlı olarak, bu evrelerden geçmekte ve değişime ayak uydurmaya çalışmaktadır. İnsanlar ve toplumlar bu evreler sırasında çevrelerini ve çevreleriyle olan ilişkilerini değiştirerek yaşamlarını sürdürmektedir. Toplumsal ve kültürel yapı insanın çevresi ile olan ilişkilerini ve çevresini biçimlendirmesinde çok önem taşımaktadır. Bu nedenle toplumsal değişmenin fiziksel çevredeki etkileri kaçınılmaz olmaktadır. Tezde yaşamın sürekliliğini sağlayan sosyo-kültürel değişmenin, tarihi çevrede, konut mekanına olan etkisi, geleneksel konutların henüz tamamen kaybolmadığı Kastamonu kenti örneği kapsamında değerlendirilmektedir. Tezin birinci bölümü olan girişte çalışmanın amacı, kapsamı ve yöntemi anlatılmaktadır. İkinci bölümde, toplum, kültür ve toplumsal değişme kavramları açıklanmakta, toplumsal değişme kuramları incelenmekte ve Türkiye'deki toplumsal değişme süreci gözden geçirilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde, tezin temel kavramları olan mekan, konut ve değişim kavramlarının tanımı yapılmakta, Türkiye'deki konut mekanının dünden bugüne değişim süreci incelenmektedir. Dördüncü bölümde, alan çalışmasının yapıldığı Kastamonu kentinin tarihsel gelişimi, kent halkının geçmişteki ve bugünkü yaşam biçimi, kentteki geleneksel konutların mekan özellikleri ve günümüzde geleneksel konutların korunmasına ilişkin yapılan çalışmalar aktarılmaktadır. Beşinci bölümde, alan çalışmasındaki anketlerin sonucunda çıkarılmış, kentteki geleneksel konutlarda yaşayan kullanıcıların sosyo-kültürel özellikleri ve zaman içerisinde konutlarda yapmış oldukları değişiklikler, kullanıcıların konutları ve yaşadıkları çevre ile ilgili değerlendirmelerine ilişkin tespitler yer almaktadır. Geleneksel konutlara ilişkin bilgiler, arşiv taraması ve gözlem tekniği ile saptanmıştır. Altıncı bölümde ise kentteki geleneksel konutların bugünkü durumlarının değerlendirmesi ve korunmasıyla ilgili önerilerin yer aldığı tezin sonuçlan ele alınmıştır. vııı

Change is absolute property of life and nature (Kongar, 1985). Nature is always in change and improvement. All living things in the nature grow up, improve and change in their life period from birth to death. During these periods, human being keeps up with change as a member of this system. People and society continue their life by changing their environment and their relationship with their environment. Social and cultural structure places an important role in determining the environment of person. Because of this, effect of social change on physical environment is certain. In this thesis the effects of social-cultural change which supply the continuity of life on house space in the historical environment is evaluated in the context of the city of Kastamonu where the traditional houses haven't disappeared yet. In the first part (Introduction) the aim, context and method of the thesis are explained. In the second part, the concepts of society, culture and socio-cultural change are described, the theories of social change are explained and the period of social change in Turkey is examined. In the third part, the concepts of space, house and change which are the main concepts of the thesis is described and the period of change in the house space of Turkey from past to today is examined. In the fourth part, the historical development of the Kastamonu city where the case study is applied, the life style of the people in the city in past and today, the properties of traditional house spaces in the city and the studies about the conservation of traditional houses today are explained. In the fifth part, the fixations taken from the interviews in the case study about the socio-cultural properties of the users the changes which they made in their houses in time, the evaluations of them about their houses and their environment take part. The information about the traditional houses is fixed by the archive research and observation technic. In the sixth part, the results of the thesis in which the evaluations of condition of the traditional houses in the city today and the suggestions about the conservation of them take part, are described.
