Özet

III ABSTRACT The aim of this researchis to determine, the expectations of the 6. grade primary education students, from the Social Sciences lesson. The research's sampling, which is executed by using the general scanning model, is formed by four hundred sixth grade students from four private schools and public schools, that are bounded to Eskişehir (Çifteler) Ministry of Education. As measuring devices, schedule of Social Scienses lesson and a questionnaire consists of 28 questions are used, and the gained data is analysed in SPSS programme. According to the findings; the students which are being educated in primary schools and whose parents' level of education are higher, have much more expectation from the lesson of social scienses than the ones who are in public schools and whose parents have a low level of education. It has been seen that, the factor of sexuality has the same effect on students' expectations. The first request of the students, which have eminent expectations from the aim of Social Scienses lesson, is the enlightening of the meaning of democracy and its importance to the Turkish society. The students have expectations from Social Scienses lesson which can make them more active such as; the organizations of trips to the nearby surroundings, discussions, soluing problems, questions-answer works, and role playings. And as well concious following of the publications and talking on current events are important for them. The first rank in the functioning of the lesson is, about the importance of using more visiual material by the teacher. Among the expectations of the Social Scienses lesson, the most gained one by the students is the ability of looking at things from a different point of view and the creative thought which allows them to add new interpretations to the incidents.II kendi düşünceleriyle olaylara yeni bir yorum katabilme becerisi yani yaratıcı düşünme becerisi olmuştur.
