ø19(67ø*$7(7+(())(&72)³62&ø2-(027ø21$/5($'ø1(66352*5$0TO SUPPORT THE SELF-&21&(37´216ø;<($562/'&+ø/'5(1¶61$/$1.858785$ù/,ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to investigate the effect of ?Socio-Emotional Readiness Programto Support the Self-Concept? on six years old children?s ?self-concept, school readinessskills and socio-emotional adjustment levels?. The study is mainly composed of twosteps:The first step is language equivalance, validity and reliability study of DeMoulin Self-Concept Developmental Scale (6 years)?. The second step is the writing of the teacher?sapplication book containing detailed daily and weekly plans of ?Socio-EmotionalReadiness Program Supporting the Self-Concept applications formation of theexperimental and control groups, the application of the studies groups.Experimental research model has been used in this study. 40 children and their mothersselected from the population constituted the sample of the study. Otherwise validity andreliability study realize total 170 six age children.To analyse the collected data according to its types, dependent group and independentgroup t-tests were used to Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient was calculated to seethe relationships between various characteristics. The differences between thecharacteristics of the experimental and control groups in the beginning were examinedwith Kay-Kare technique. Analysis of the used statistical methods were carried out, andit was accepted that the significance levels are .01 and .05.According to the findings, for DeMoulin Self-Concept Developmental Scale internalconsistency coefficients were calculated on application results of maximum reliability0,88. According to the results from the applications with children, test-re test reliabilitycoefficient was found as .607 and it was significant at .01 level. ?Socio-EmotionalReadiness Program to Support the Self-Concept? was applied to the experimentalgroup, and the results were compared with the control group. According to this,significant differences in self-concept level were found between the children whoattended the program and children who did not attend the program at .01 level.Similarly, significant differences in school readiness skills and socio-emotionaladjustment levels were found between experimental and control groups at .01 level.
