Özet (Çeviri)
The aim of this study was to contribute to the improvement of basic motor skills and body compositions of pre-school children between the ages 4-6 with the help of movement education programme; to provide support to the development of activities to be used in the pre-school educational programme and to open way to further studies. 70 children participated voluntarily to this study, the subjects consist of two groups: 35 experimental group and 35 control group. The control group continued with the routine pre-school educational programme while the experimental group was given movement education programme for 1 academic year, being 3 days a week, 1 hour for each day. Assesment was performed for each children separately by measuring motor skills (balance, agility, elasticity, catching the ball, throwing the ball, static long jump, vertical jump, speed run and paw strength) and body composition (diameter, perimeter, height, weight, stroke length, sitting height and skinfold thickness). A pre-test prior to the application and a post-test at the end of the programme were performed to the participants and SPSS 11.0 package programme was used for statistical analysis. Paired sample t-test for assesment of pre and post-tests for experimental and control groups among each other, descriptive statistics for detecting the minimal and maximal values of groups, independent sample t-test for comparison or intergroups were used. As a result of the statistical analysis, a significant difference was detected for control group, (p<0,01) for body composition, diameter, perimeter, triceps skinfold thickness and motor skills; (p<0,05) for supscapula skinfold thickness and body mass index. No significant difference was found between biceps, chest, abdominal, suprailiac, thigh and calf skinfold thickness and fat percent values (p>0,05). 4 A significant difference of (p<0,01) for control group?s measurement values for body composition, diameter, perimeter, skinfold thickness and motor skills and (p<0,05) for triceps skinfold thickness was detected. When looking into the difference between experimental and control group, a significant difference in favor of the control group (p<0,01) has been detected in the difference of groups average measurements of height, stroke length, sitting height, forearm perimeter, biceps, triceps, chest, abdominal, suprailiac, thigh, skinfold thickness, fat percent, static balance, dynamic balance, elasticity, catching, throwing, long jump, vertical jump, speed, right paw and left paw strength; while a significant difference has been detected in the difference between the groups (p<0,05) among the average measurements of abdominal perimeter, supscapula, calf skinfold thickness, body mass index and rapidness. No significance has been detected between experimental and control groups in the difference of the average measurement of weight, biacromial, biiliac, bitrochanter, chest, humerus ve femur diameter, head, shoulder, chest, hip, biceps, thigh and calf perimeter (p>0,05). No significant difference was found in the measurements according to independent sample t-test results, that were performed in order to determine any difference between male and female children of ages 4-6 in experimental and control groups (p>0,05).
