PAMUKKALE ÜN VERS TESFEN B L MLER ENST TÜSÜLKÖĞRET M ANAB L M DALIÖĞRENC MERKEZL FEN B L G S EĞ T M N N ÖĞRENC BAŞARILARINAETK Ssmail DEN ZÖZETBu araştırma fen öğretiminde öğrenci merkezli aktif yöntemlerin öğretmen merkezlipasif yöntemlere karşı bir üstünlüğünün olup olmadığını ölçmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Öğretmen Merkezli Eğitim ile Öğrenci Merkezli Eğitimin öğrenci başarılarına etkilerininbilinmesiyle, ilköğretim fen programlarının uygulanmasına yönelik öneriler getirilmesiamaçlanmıştır.Araştırma başlangıcında literatür taraması yapılmış ve veri toplama aracı olarak fenbilgisi öğretmenlerinin de yardımıyla ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerine 20 sorudan oluşançoktan seçmeli bir test hazırlanmıştır. Bu araştırma soruları bilgi, anlama ve yorumlamayadayalı becerileri ölçmeye yöneliktir.Araştırmaya Denizli ili Güney ilçesinde bulunan Atatürk lköğretim Okulundan 50 taneöğrenci katılmıştır. 25 tane 7/A sınıfı öğrencisi kontrol grubu ve 25 tane 7/B sınıfı öğrencisi dedeney grubu olarak katılmıştır.Deney ve kontrol gruplarının verdiği cevaplara göre ortaya çıkan aritmetik ortalama,standart sapma ve t-testi değerleri verilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar incelendiğinde öğrencimerkezli eğitimin klâsik yöntemlere göre daha verimli olduğu açığa çıkmaktadır.

PAMUKKALE ÜN VERS TESFEN B L MLER ENST TÜSÜGRADUATE PROGRAM IN PRIMARY TEACHINGTHE EFFECTS OF STUDENT-CENTERED SCIENCE EDUCATION ON STUDENT?SACHIEVEMENTSsmail DEN ZABSTRACTThe research performed in this thesis aims to find a difference between the student-centered learning and teacher-centered learning, particularly in science education. With thehelp of research results, it is intended to make some suggestions on the practices of scienceeducation, whether it be student-centered or teacher-centered.In order to explore the effects of student-centered learning, with cooperation of scienceteachers, 20 multiple-choice questions for the 7th class were designed and applied by theresearcher. These questions require a spectrum of skills like knowledge, reasoning andunderstanding.The sample in this thesis is composed of 50 students, 25 of them from 7/A class and 25 ofthem from 7/B class from Atatürk Primary School. Both class are sitiuated in Güney inDenizli and has similiar features in terms of student backgrounds and facilities.The results are analyzed using statistical techniques, e.g. finding arithmetic mean,standard deviation and the t-test. We find that the student-centered techniques seems moreeffective than the conventional learning tecniques.
