Özet
Peter Brook'un kuramına göre her boş alan bir sahnedir. Oyuncu o boş alanda yalnızdır ve o boş alanı istediği gibi doldurabilir. Bu alan doldurma bir süre sonra sahneyi süslemeye dönüşür. Bu da dekorla mümkün hale gelir. Latince decus,oris kelimesinin köklerinin anlamı ?süslemedir?.Bu süslemenin neye göre ve nasıl olacağı her oyunda çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Sahne; dekoru başta resim ve mimari olmak üzere bütün plastik sanat dallarını bünyesinde toplayan, ancak işlevi, yazarın yazdığı drama metnine uygun, sahnede gerekli aksiyonu sağlayacak mekânları yaratmak olan bir sanat dalıdır. Tiyatronun tarihi boyunca dekor anlayışında birçok değişiklik olmuştur ve olmaya da devam edecektir.Tiyatroda dekor kavramının ne denli önemli olduğunun ve Türk tiyatrosunda dekor yapımından sahne tasarımına doğru bir geçişin gösterilmeye çalışıldığı bu tez, Türkiye'de sahne tasarımı kavramının göstermiş olduğu ciddi gelişmeye değinmek açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışma, tiyatro sanatında dekorun yeri ve önemi üzerine hazırlanmıştır. Böylesine geniş bir konuyu tarihsel gelişimi içerisinde ve Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk Tiyatrosunda dekorun geçirdiği evreleri incelemenin teatral anlamda bana çok şey kattığına inanıyorum.Günümüz tiyatrosunda, gelenekselleşen tiyatronun sahne tasarımı konusunda var olan işlevlerine alternatif tiyatro, gösterim tiyatrosu v.b. öncü uygulamalarla yeni işlevler yüklenmiş, dolayısıyla fiziksel mekân ve uzam tasarımları da bu işlevleri karşılamaya yönelik olarak ele alınmaya başlanmıştır.Gerek geleneksel oyunlarda gerekse devinimin uzaysal değeri ile tasarım arasında kurulan özel ilişki nedeniyle çağdaş oyunlarda, fiziksel mekân ve uzam tasarımının oyunculuk ve yönetmenlik sanatlarının icrasında önemli bir faktör olması, oyunculuk ve yönetmenlik bölümlerinde sahne tasarımının önemini vurgulamaktadır.Bu çalışma ülkemizdeki sahne tasarımı kavramının gelişimine ışık tutmaktadır. Böyle çok yönlü bir konunun seçilmesi gelecek kuşaklara sahne tasarımının gelişimini aktarmak bakımından önemlidir.Tezde ana fikir olarak tümdengelim yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bunun yanı sırada ana bölümlere ve alt bölümlemelere de gidilmiştir.Bu çalışmayı, genel anlamda tiyatronun doğuşu ve tiyatronun yapısı, dekor ve dekorun ilişkilendirildiği diğer unsurlar, tiyatronun gelişim süreci ve Cumhuriyet Döneminde sahne tasarımı anlayışı olmak üzere dört bölümde incelemeyi uygun bulduk. Tezin birinci bölümünde tiyatro ve tiyatronun yapısı incelenmiştir. İkinci bölüm ise dekorun Antik Yunandan başlayarak günümüze kadar, çeşitli tarihsel süreçler ve akımlar içerisinde değerlendirilmesini kapsamaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde tiyatroda dekorun yeri, özellikleri ve sahnede kullanılması ile ilgili teorik bilgiler yer almaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde ise Cumhuriyet Döneminde Türk Tiyatrosunda sahne tasarımının gelişim süreci ve sahnelenmiş bazı oyunların dekor tasarım örnekleri yer almaktadır.Tiyatro sanatını, önemini ve estetiğini anlamaya çalıştığım zamanlarda hazırladığım bu çalışmanın, kişisel gelişimimde bana büyük bir ivme kazandıracağına inanıyorum.

According to the theory of Peter Brook, every empty area is a stage. The actor is alone in that empty space and can fill that empty shall as desired. This area filling transforms into ornamenting the stage after some time. This can only be possible with décor. The meaning of the origins of the Latin word ?decus, oris? is ?ornamenting / decorating?.The basis and method of this decoration varies with every play. The stage décor is a branch of art that encapsulates all the plastic art branches, primarily painting and architecture, however that has the function of creating places in the stage to provide the necessary action, conforming to the drama text written by the writer. There have been several changes in the understanding of décor throughout history and these changes will always continue to be present.This thesis struggling to demonstrate how important the décor concept is in theater and to show the transition in the Turkish theater from décor making to stage design, bears a significance in terms of addressing the serious development the stage design concept has displayed in Turkey. This study has been prepared to describe the place and importance of décor in the art of theater. I believe that examining such a vast subject within its historical development and with the phases that décor has experienced during the Republican Era of the Turkish Theater has contributed significantly on theatrical terms.In today?s theater, new functions have been added to the already existing functions of the stage design of the traditionalized theater with leading applications such as alternative theater, performance theater, etc.; thus, physical space and extent designs have also been commenced to be considered aimed at meeting these functions.Both at the traditional plays and the modern plays due to the special relation established between the spatial value of motion and design; the fact that the physical space and extent design being an important factor in the performance of the acting and directing arts, the acting and directing departments also emphasize the importance of the stage design.This study sheds some light on the development of the stage design concept in our country. The selection of such a versatile subject is important to transmit the development of the stage design to the future generations.Deduction method has been used in this thesis as the central theme. Moreover, sub-sections and sub-sectioning were also utilized.We decided to analyze this study under four chapters being: overall birth of theater and the structure of theater, décor and other elements associated with décor, development process of the theater and the stage design understanding in the Turkish Republican Era. In the first chapter of the thesis, the theater and the structure thereof has been examined. The second chapter covers the assessment of décor form the Ancient Greek until today, within several historical processes and trends. The third chapter provides theoretical knowledge regarding the place of décor in theater, its properties and use in the stage. Finally the fourth chapter explains the development process of the stage design in the Republican Era of the Turkish Theater and sample décor designs from some staged plays.I believe that this study I have prepared in the times that I was struggling to understand the art, importance and aesthetics of theater, will provide a significant acceleration in my personal development.
