The reliability and validity of the Turkish Version of Children's Yale Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS) were evaluated in a sample of 19 (6 girls and 13 boys, aged 8 to 16) children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Interrater agreement was assessed by three raters in a subsample of 17 participants. Discriminant and convergent validity were assessed by comparing CYBOCS scores to self-ratings of depression, anxiety/ depression, behavior problems and obsessive compulsive symptoms and the parent-ratings of behavior problems and the clinician-ratings of clinical impression. Internal consistency was. 77 for the 10 items and the intraclass correlation for the Compulsion Subscale, the Obsession Subscale and the CY-BOCS Total scores were .85, .94 and .72, respectively, indicating good to excellent interrater agreement. The clinical impression score was highly correlated with the CY-BOCS Total score (r= .61,p = .007). The CY-BOCS Total score showed a significantly higher correlation with a self-report of obsessivecompulsive symptoms, Leyton Survey (r = .46) when compared with the Children's Depression Inventory (r = -.15) and self-report of behavior problems (r = .01) (p = .01 and .03, respectively). The results show that the Turkish Version ofCY -BOCS yields a reliable and valid measure of obsessive-compulsive symptom severity in children and adolescents.
