This study aimed to investigate the experiences, feelings and perspectives of mothers participating in the Mother-Child Education Program in istanbul through a qualitative research methodology. Overall effectiveness of the program, the way it was implemented in the group and how the mothers benefited from the program were the main concerns. The study was carried out with 20 mothers. Individual and focus interviews and participant observation were used in this study. The researcher also kept a diary that provided insights into the experience of attending and practicing the skills learned as a mother. The responses obtained from the interviews with open-ended questions and data from the observation notes were classified and categorized. The results of this study revealed that the program created some changes in mother-child relationship, in mothers, in children and in fathers. The effects of the program on mother-child relationship, on children and on fathers were categorized as direct and side effects, and the direction of the effect was indicated as positive or negative. The effects of the program on mothers were examined in two aspects, the change in the mother's behavior and the change in the mother's perceptions. This change in behavior and perceptions of the mother was found to have. three addressees, namely the children, the husbands and the mother herself. In addition, a causal network was used to display the relationship between the program, the mother, the child and the father. Another network aimed to explain the reasons for mothers' attrition or inadequate benefiting from the program.
