The Turkish Hotel Industry has been facing a very rapid growth in some aspects such as bed capacity, and occupancy rate, however, ignoring other important elements of being successful and compatible such as training of its work force. It is not an unknown that the work force in this industry is lacking education and training. Many studies have been revealed disclosing this fact at different times. A survey was conducted to see how the industry has responded to the problem. It was found that the industry did not provide satisfactory training for its work force. However, today the training of the work force is a must for the survival of any industry. According to Gary Hotchkin, a professor in Hawaii Pasific University and a hospitality management expert with more than 25-years field experience in training and education,Because technology and customer expectations are changing so rapidly, if you do not have a continuous and upgrading program to keep people current, they become less useful simply because they will do the things the way they've done it, and doing it the way they've always done it doesnt take into account all that changes in technology, hardware, software and customer expectations that are changing around them (Interview, 1993) . Depending on the extensive data collected through primary and secondary sources, an in-house approach to training was found very beneficial for the Turkish Hotel Industry. As a result, the researcher developed a six-step in-house training program that can help the hotels to overcome their training problem. These six-steps are: 1. preparation - commitment of top management 2. employee Involvement- involving the employees into the process 3. planning- answering why?, what?, who?, when?, and how? 4. trainer selection- selecting and training the trainers 5. implementation- the training methods, training time, and the training sides 6. continuity- keeping the process continuous and making it a part of the company*a culture Moreover, instead of waiting for the help of the Turkish Government, the industry was recommended to respond to this problem itself. This recommendation was made basically because the government has already been giving education and training for decades. However, the education and training that are given by the government are not satisfactory, and moreover, are not focused on the specifics and viable needs of the companies that in a modern world must learn to stand on their own merits.
