The purpose of the present study is to examine the psychological and sociocultural adaptation of overseas students who study for undergraduate and master degrees at Kingston University. The research investigates the experiences of overseas students while studying for a degree at Kingston University, their academic and daily life, and their social contacts. The Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale and the Cross-cultural Adaptation Survey (Ward & Kennedy, 1999) were applied in the study. The results of the study demonstrated that overseas students at Kingston University are well-adapted in the UK. The study alsa demonstrated that female overseas students do not experience more depressive complaints than male overseas students. Furthermore, the results established a positive correlation between depression level and adjustment. That is, they demonstrated that overseas students who are adapted to the host country experience less depressive complaints than overseas students who are not adapted, and that the more adapted students are in daily life, academİc life, and in contact with people, the less depressive complaints they report.
