Leadership is one of the most researched concepts in the business world. The main reason is that it is important for researchers, scholars and managers to understand the ways in which leadership styles change alongside the changes in the society and its mentality. It can be argued that these changes require the organisations to change their style accordingly in order to ensure the continuity of their profitability and competitive advantage. In other words, organisations have to remain relevant in terms of the changes that are taking place in their environment. The most important aspect of this environment is the human factor and the changes in the ways in which they think. Without this understanding, it is largely impossible for the organisations to maintain their competitiveness and remain strong in their industries. Leadership style has a great role in the determination of these achievements. Leadership is especially important in terms of its impact on the relationship between employee relations and the competitive advantage of the company. It might be argued that the essence of this relationship is the way in which employees, who are satisfied with their work and its benefits, are able to create a better value for the business during the work process. Therefore, this research investigates the ways in which different forms of leadership impact on employee relations and its relationship with the competitive advantage. The research focuses on the fast food sector and especially the case of Burger King. The findings of the research are used to suggest different recommendations for the company.
