SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to examine the social development of the 5 and 6 years old children group in kindergarten after 12 weeks creative drama training. The research was carried out on sample group of 48 children (23 girls, 25 boys) aged between 5 and 6 years enrolled in the Ziraat Bank Kindergarten. This sample group were divided into two 24 sized groups that are namely experimental and control group. The Portage Early Childhood Education Program's Social Development Control List was used as a means in the study. Before and after the creative drama training, social development control list which consist of items regarding in the age range of 61-72 months in the Portage Early Childhood Education Program was filled by the teacher of each child. According to the information taken from the teachers, the successfulness and unsuccessfulness of the children were shown both in numerical and percentage values in the tables. In this study, training was given at 12 weeks to the 24 children in experimental group, the application was once a week and approximately 30 minutes. According to the statistical analysis of data, it's observed that improvement of some behaviors increased in the rate of %4.17- % 12.5 after the training. Before the training, experimental group had been more successful than control group. After training, an increase in success of some behaviors in control group's children also observed although it's low rate (%4.17). However, 112for the 75th, 76th and 83rd paragraph in which the experimental group exhibit success, any change was not recorded in control group. As a conclusion, it can be implied that creative drama training has improvement effects on social behaviors of the 5 and 6 years old children group in kindergarten. mm® 113
