Özet

Bu araştırma, sesli ve sessiz okuma yöntemlerinin ilkokul ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin okuduğunu anlama düzeylerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın modeli olarak tek grup son test modeli belirlenmiştir. Araştırma Bursa ili Mudanya İlçesinde özel bir ilkokulda, toplam 60 öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu öğrencilerin dağılımı A şubesi için 12 erkek, 8 kız, B şubesi için 11 erkek, 9 kız, C şubesi için 13 erkek, 7 kız şeklinde olmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan okuduğunu anlama başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Uygulama safhası, belirlenen her kitap için bir hafta olmak üzere toplam üç hafta sürmüştür. Uygulanan yöntemler, sınıfta sessiz okuma, sınıfta öğretmen tarafından sesli okuma ve kütüphanede sessiz okuma şeklindedir. Araştırma kapsamında uygulanan yöntemler arasındaki farklılığa, şubeler arasındaki farklara, cinsiyet değişkenine göre farklılığa bakılmıştır. Bu alt problemlere yönelik aritmetik ortalama, Kruskal Wallis H testi, Friedman testi, Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar testi ve Mann Whitney U testi analiz yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS programından yararlanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, öğretmen tarafından yapılan sesli okuma yönteminde, sınıfta sessiz okuma ve kütüphanede sessiz okuma yöntemlerine göre pozitif yönde anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kütüphanede sessiz okuma ve sınıfta sessiz okuma yöntemleri arasında ise anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of aloud and silent reading methods on reading comprehension levels of elementary school second grade students. As a method of research, a single group posttest method is determined. The study is carried out with the participation of 60 students in a private primary school in Mudanya District of Bursa province. The distribution of these students is respectively for A branch 12 boys, 8 girls, for B branch 11 boys, 9 girls, and for C branch 13 boys and 7 girls. As data collection technique, the reading comprehension test prepared by the researcher was used. The implementation phase lasted a total of 3 weeks, each book read for 1 week. Applied methods are silent reading in the classroom, voice reading by the teacher in the classroom and silent reading in the library. Throughout the study, the differences between the methods applied, differences between the branches and gender differences are examined. For these subproblems, arithmetic mean, Kruskal Wallis H test, Friedman test, Wilcoxon Marked Rows test and Mann Whitney U test, methods of analysis were used. SPSS program was used to analyze the data. As a result, it was determined that there is a positive significant difference between the silent reading methods in the library and silent reading methods in the classroom. It was determined that there is no significant difference between silent reading methods in the classroom and silent reading methods in the library.
