Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, üyesi olunan grubun diğer üyelerinin geçmişte sergilediği hatalı/olumsuz davranışlar sebebiyle grup üyelerinin hissettikleri grup temelli duyguların ortaya çıkmasını etkileyen faktörleri incelemektir. Özellikle, bireylerin dış grup üyeleriyle ortak bir kimliğe sahip olmaları ve ortak bir gelecek beklentisi içerisinde olmalarının grup temelli olumsuz duygulara etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla üç deneysel çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk çalışmada, iki farklı gezegende yaşayan insanlar arasında geçtiği varsayılan bir savaşın anlatıldığı senaryolarla ortak kimlik ve ortak gelecek değişkenleri manipüle edilerek grup temelli olumsuz duygular ölçülmüştür. 139 üniversite öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilen çalışmanın bulguları, ortak kimlik ve ortak gelecek algısının grup temelli duyguların oluşmasında anlamlı bir farklılık yaratmadığını göstermiştir. İkinci çalışmada, ortak kimlik ve ortak gelecek manipülasyonları aynı adada yaşayan iki halk arasında geçen bir çatışmanın anlatıldığı senaryolarla gerçekleştirilerek grup temelli olumsuz duygular incelenmiştir. 137 üniversite öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilen çalışmanın bulguları, ortak kimlik ve ortak gelecek algısının grup temelli duyguların oluşmasında anlamlı bir farklılık yaratmadığını göstermiştir. 358 üniversite öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilen üçüncü çalışmada, ortak kimlik ve ortak gelecek algısının yanısıra verilen zararın meşru algılanıp algılanmaması durumunun grup temelli olumsuz duyguların ortaya çıkmasındaki etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma bulguları, bu üç değişkenin etkileşiminin grup temelli duyguların hissedilme düzeyinde anlamlı bir farklılık yaratmadığını göstermiştir. Bulgular, ilgili alanyazın kapsamında tartışılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the factors that affect the formation of group-based emotions felt by group members due to the wrong/negative behaviors exhibited by other members of the group in the past. Particularly, role of sharing a common identity and common future on group-based negative emotions has been examined. For this purpose, three studies were carried out. In the first study, group-based emotions were measured by manipulating the perception of common identity and future with scenarios in which a war supposedly took place between people living on two different planets. The findings of the study conducted with 139 university students showed that the perception of common identity and common future did not make a significant difference in the formation of group-based emotions. In the second study, group-based negative emotions were examined by manipulating the common identity and future with scenarios in which a conflict between two peoples living on the same island. The findings of the study conducted with 137 university students showed that the perception of common identity and common future did not make a significant difference in the formation of group-based emotions. In the third study, which was conducted with 358 university students, the effect of the perception of common identity and future and whether the harm was perceived as legitimate or not, on the formation of group-based negative emotions was examined. The study findings showed that the interaction of these three variables did not make a significant difference on the level of group-based emotions. The findings are discussed within the scope of the related literature.
