Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı 7. sınıf Fen Bilimleri dersi Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi Ünitesi'nin öğretiminde eğitsel filmlerle desteklenen örnek olay yönteminin öğrencilerin akademik başarı ve fen konularına yönelik ilgi düzeylerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde Şırnak ili, Uludere İlçesi'nde, bulunan bir ortaokulun 7. sınıfında öğrenim gören, iki şubeden olmak üzere toplam 43 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Öğrenim, deney grubunda (N=22) eğitsel filmlerle desteklenmiş örnek olay yöntemi ile kontrol grubunda (N=21) ise eğitsel filmlerle desteklenmiş örnek olay yöntemi kullanılmadan devam ettirilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın verilerini toplamak için yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın veri toplama süreci, Fen Bilimleri dersinde Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi Ünitesi'nin işlendiği dört hafta boyunca sürdürülmüştür. Araştırmada araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi Başarı Testi, Laçin Şimşek ve Nuhoğlu, (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Fen Konularına Yönelik İlgi Ölçeği veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulama sürecinde ise önce her iki gruba da Güneş sistemi ve ötesi akademik başarı testi ve fen konularına yönelik ilgi ölçeği ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Uygulama faaliyeti sırasında ünite içerisinde yer alan kazanımlar deney grubunda 18 eğitsel film ile desteklenmiş beş adet örnek olay metni kullanılarak öğretilirken kontrol grubunda öğretim Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) Fen bilimleri müfredatının önerdiği şekilde yapılmıştır. Uygulama bitiminde yine aynı başarı testi ve ölçek her iki gruba da son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde SPSS 26.0 programından yararlanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin araştırmada kullanılan test ve ölçeğe verdikleri yanıtların dağılım sonuçlarının ortaya çıkarılmasında betimsel istatistik tekniklerinden faydalanılmıştır. Test puanlarına ait merkezi eğilim (ortalama, mod ve medyan) ve merkezi dağılım (standart sapma, varyans, çarpıklık ve basıklık) değerleri rapor edilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrenciler arasında ön ve son test puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde bir fark olup olmadığını tespit etmek için bağımsız gruplar t-testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada gerçekleştirilen tüm analiz çalışmalarında anlamlılık düzeyi .05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Öğretim faaliyeti öncesinde yapılan güneş sistemi ve ötesi başarı testi ön test sonuçlarına göre deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencileri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretim faaliyetinin ardından deney ve kontrol grubuna yapılan güneş sistemi ve ötesi ünitesi akademik başarı testi son test puan ortalamalarına göre gruplar arasında deney grubu lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde bir fark tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan ulaşılan bir diğer sonuç ise deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin fen konularına yönelik ilgi ölçeği ön test sonuçları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığı, fakat öğretim faaliyetinin ardından yapılan son test puan ortalamaları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılığın bulunduğudur.

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of the case study method supported by educational films in the teaching of the Solar System and Beyond Unit of the 7th grade Science course on the academic achievement and interest levels of the students in science. The study group of the study consisted of 43 students in total, who were studying in the 7th grade of a secondary school in Uludere District of Şırnak province in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, in two classes. The instructional process was continued in the experimental group (N=22) with the case study method supported by educational films, and in the control group (N=21) without using the case study method supported by educational films. A quasi-experimental design was used to collect the data of this study. The data collection process of this study continued for four weeks in the Science course, when the Solar System and Beyond Unit was taught. In the research, the Solar System and Beyond Achievement Test developed by the researcher and the Science Interest Scale developed by Laçin Şimşek and Nuhoğlu, (2009) were used as data collection tools. In the application process of the research, firstly, both groups were applied as a pre-test of the Solar system and beyond academic achievement test and the interest scale for science subjects. During the implementation activity, the achievements in the units were taught in the experimental group using five case studies supported by 18 educational films, while in the control group, the teaching was carried out as recommended by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) Science curriculum. At the end of the application, the same achievement test and scale were applied to both groups as a post-test. SPSS 26.0 program was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics techniques were used to reveal the distribution results of the answers given by the students to the test and scale used in the research. Central tendency (mean, mode and median) and central distribution (standard deviation, variance, skewness and kurtosis) values of test scores are reported. Independent groups t-test was used to determine whether there was a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores between the students in the experimental and control groups. The level of significance was accepted as .05 in all analysis studies carried out in the research. According to the pre-test results of the solar system and beyond achievement test performed before the teaching activity, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control group students. After the teaching activity, a statistically significant difference was found between the groups in favor of the experimental group according to the post-test mean scores of the solar system and beyond unit academic achievement test applied to the experimental and control groups. Another result reached from the research is that there is no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control group students' pre-test results of the interest scale for science subjects, but there is a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the post-test mean scores made after the teaching activity.
