Özet
Anlatı Bilmini akademisyenler, anlatıyı ve okuyucular üzerindeki etkilerini genellikle anlatıbilim teorisine göre tartışmayı hedef edinirler. Bu nedenle metinlerin ikaye özelliklerine odaklanır. Mevcut tez, John Fowles'ın The French Lieutenant's Woman ve Ian McEwan's Atonement adlı eserlerindeki anlatıbilim teorisine göre anlatı biçimlerini incelemektedir. Çalışma, her iki romanda da anlatının okuyucular üzerindeki etkisini araştırmak için öykü yönlerinin uygulama yöntemlerine göre ele almaktadır. İlk olarak, çalışma anlatıbilim disiplininin teorik bir çerçevesini ve teorinin gelişim aşamalarını inceler. Ayrıca giriş bölümünde metinlerin yorumlanması kavramına ve okuyucuların metinlere yönelik duygu ve anlatımları arasındaki ilişkiye ve bunun yorumlama sürecindeki etkisine yer verilmiştir. Aynı şekilde giriş bölümünde, romanlarda hikâye unsurlarının kavramı ve amacı ile uygulama yöntemleri açıklanmaktadır. Sonraki bölümler, anlatı üzerindeki etkilerini göstermek için uygulamalı olarak tartışır ve her iki romandaki teorik çerçeveye göre bu yönleri incelemeye çalışır. Bunun yanı sıra metinlerin yorumlanmasının hikâyenin anlaşılmasında önemli etkisi ortaya koyar. Bu çalışma, öykü anlatımındaki öykü yönleri tekniklerinin amacını ve bunların anlatı kalitesi üzerindeki etkilerinin yanı sıra okuyucular üzerindeki etkilerini anlamayı ve tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu iki roman, anlatı yönleri anlamak ve yazarların bu yönleri okuyucuların ilgisi için kullanma becerisini anlamak için seçilmiş iki romandan oluşmaktadır.

Narratologist scholars usually discuss story aspects according to the narratology theory regarding their impact on the narrative and the readers because narratology focuses on the story features form. The current thesis studies the story aspects according to the narratology theory in John Fowles's The French Lieutenant's Woman and Ian McEwan's Atonement. The study concentrates on the application methods of the story aspects to investigate the narrative impact on readers in both novels. Firstly, the study presents a theoretical framework of the narratology theory and the evolution phases of the theory throughout this study. In addition, the introduction chapter included the concept of the texts' interpretation and the relation between the emotions and narratology of the readers towards the texts and its impact through the interpretation process. Likewise, the introduction explains the concept and purpose of the story aspects and application methods in novels. The following chapters attempt to present an application vision and study of these aspects according to the theoretical framework in both novels in order to demonstrate their impact on the narrative. Besides, the significant effect of the texts' interpretation on understanding the story. This study intends to understand and discuss the purpose of the story aspects techniques in the story narrative and their impact on the narrative quality and readers. These two novels are best of a kind for understanding these aspects and the authors' ability to hire these aspects for readers' interest.
