Özet
Bu çalışma, okuma tiyatrosu yönteminin öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama, dinleme ve konuşma becerilerine etkisini inceleme amacını taşımaktadır. Bu amaç kapsamında, okuma tiyatrosunun Türkçe derslerinde kullanılması üzerine somut verilerden hareket edilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunda, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ankara ili merkez ilçesinde öğrenim gören 23'ü deney, 20'si kontrol grubu olmak üzere 43 beşinci sınıf öğrencisi yer almıştır. Ön test-son test kontrol gruplu gerçek deneysel desenin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada deney grubundaki öğrencilere dört hafta boyunca haftada ikişer saat yöntemi tanımaları ve yapılacak çalışmalara ön hazırlık teşkil etmesi amacıyla uygulamalı eğitim verilmiştir. Ön hazırlık aşamasından sonra deney grubundaki öğrencilerle dersler yirmi hafta süresince haftada ikişer saat okuma tiyatrosu yöntemiyle işlenerek asıl uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerle Türkçe ders kitabındaki etkinlikler doğrultusunda derslere devam edilmiştir. Çalışmanın veri toplama aşamasında ölçekleri geliştiren araştırmacılardan gerekli izinler alınarak“Okuduğunu Anlama Testi”,“Dinlediğini Anlama Testi”ve“Etkili Konuşma Ölçeği”kullanılmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesi aşamasında SPSS 22 paket programı kullanılarak gerekli analizler yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama, dinlediğini anlama ve etkili konuşma becerileri açısından kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre daha başarılı olduklarını göstermiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin anlama ve anlatma becerilerinin geliştirilmesinde okuma tiyatrosunun etkili bir araç olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to reveal the role of readers theatre in the development of students' language skills and to explain the guidelines for utilising this method. The study group of the research consisted of 43 fifth grade students, of whom 23 were in the experimental group and 20 were in the control group, studying in the central district of Ankara province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In this study, in which a true experimental pretest-posttest control group design was used, it was considered whether there was a difference between the pretest scores when determining the experimental and control groups, and attention was paid to the random assignment of the participants to the groups. The students in the experimental group were given practical training for two hours per week over a period of four weeks in order to familiarise them with the method and to constitute a preliminary preparation for the activities to be carried out. After the preliminary preparation stage, the main implementation was carried out with the students in the experimental group by teaching them with the readers theatre method for two hours per week over a period of twenty weeks. The lessons with the students in the control group were taught in line with the activities in the Turkish textbook. At the data collection stage of the study, after obtaining the necessary permission from the researchers who developed the scales, the“Reading Comprehension Test,”“Listening Comprehension Test”and“Effective Speaking Scale”were used. At the data analysis stage, the necessary analyses were made using the SPSS 22 software package. The findings obtained in the study showed that the students in the experimental group were more successful than the students in the control group in terms of reading comprehension, listening comprehension and effective speaking skills. The results of the study reveal that readers theatre is an effective tool for the development of students' language skills.
