Özet
T. vaginalis, Trichomonadidae familyasının Trichomonas cinsine mensup olan, cinsel yolla en sık bulaşan, tek hücreli, parazitin insanlardaki tek patojenik formu olan 35-37°Cde ve 4,9-7,5 pH'da yaşayabilen, kamçılı protozoondır. Etken başlıca vajina ve üretrada enfeksiyon yarattığı gibi prostat bezi, seminal kese ve rahim ağzını da enfekte edebilir (Saeidi ve ark., 2019). Kişide vajina ve vulva bölgesinde kaşıntı ve yanma, köpüklü kokulu olan beyazımsı sarı akıntı, erkeklerde idrar yaparken yanma ve beyaz akıntı, düşük ağırlıklı ve prematüre doğum, pelvik hastalıklar, üreme fonksiyon bozukluğu (Fouts & Kraus, 1980), vulvovajinal kandidiyaz, bakteriyal vajinit, (Aboudve ark., 2008)gibi semptomlar görülebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Sambucus nigra bitkisinin çiçek ve meyvesinden elde edilen, %70 ve % 25'lik etanol, kloroform ve metanol gibi farklı polaritedeki çözücülerden, çalkama maserasyonu ile elde edilen ekstrelerinin-vitro trikomonosidaletkinliği üzerine çalışılmış ve bu şekilde metronidazole alternatif bir tedavinin mümkün olup olmayacağı araştırılmıştır.Mürver meyvesinin ekstreleri çiçeklerine kıyasla daha yüksek trikomonosidal etkinlik gösterirken, ilk 24 saatte meyvenin kloroform, %70'lik etanol, metanol ve % 25'lik etanol ekstreleri için bulduğumuz IC50 değerleri sırasıyla 1136, 1138, 1373, 8819 μg/ml olarak bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar mürverin trikomonosidal etkinliğinin olduğunu ve daha ileri çalışmalara ışık tutabileceğini göstermektedir.

T. vaginalis is a flagellated protozoan belonging to the Trichomonas genus of the Trichomonadidae family, the most commonly sexually transmitted, single-celled, flagellated protozoan that can survive at 35-37℃ and 4,9-7,5 pH, and is the only pathogenic form of the parasite in humans. The agent mainly causes infections in the vagina and urethra, but can also infect the prostate gland, seminal vesicle and cervix (Saeidi et al.,2019). Itching and burning in the vagina and vulva area, whitish-yellow discharge with a foamy odor, burning and white discharge during urination in men, low birth weight and premature birth, pelvic diseases, reproductive dysfunction (Fouts & Kraus, 1980), vulvovaginal candidiasis, bacterial vaginitis, Symptoms such as (Aboud et al., 2008) can be seen. In this study, the in vitro trichomonocidal activity of extracts obtained from the flowers and fruits of the Sambucus nigra plant, obtained by shaking maceration from solvents of different polarities such as 70% and 25% ethanol, chloroform and methanol, was studied and thus whether an alternative treatment to metronidazole is possible. It has been researched that it will not happen. While the extracts of elderberry fruit showed higher trichomonocidal activity compared to its flowers, the IC50 values we found for the chloroform, 70% ethanol, methanol and 25% ethanol extracts of the fruit in the first 24 hours were found to be 1136, 1138, 1373, 8819 μg/ml, respectively. These results show that elderberry has trichomonocidal activity and can shed light on further studies.
