Özet
Environmental sustainability has become a critical issue in the hospitality industry. In recent years, hotels have been trying to reduce their environmental footprint by implementing various eco-friendly practices. One of the ways to achieve this is by using eco-friendly cleaning products. However, choosing the best eco-friendly cleaning product can be challenging, as there are numerous products available on the market, and it can be difficult to determine which product is the most effective and environmentally friendly. In this thesis, we aim to identify the best eco-friendly cleaning product that can be used in the Radisson Red Hotel. The focus is not only on the effectiveness of the cleaning product, but also on its environmental impact. The aim is to find a product that is both effective at cleaning and environmentally sustainable. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, we provide a background on environmental sustainability in the hospitality industry and the importance of using eco-friendly cleaning products. We also review the different types of eco-friendly cleaning products available on the market and their environmental impact. Additionally, we discussed what the criteria would be to choose the best product for the hotel to compromise the health and safety of the hotel staff and guests. We outline the criteria that will be used to evaluate eco-friendly cleaning products, such as the product's effectiveness in cleaning, its environmental impact, and its cost-effectiveness. We also explore the constraints and challenges associated with implementing eco-friendly practices in the hospitality industry, such as the lack of awareness, the cost of eco-friendly products, and the difficulty of finding reliable suppliers. In the second part, we present the results of our research. We conducted an interview with hotel staff and survey with potential hotel guests to determine their preferences when choosing a hotel and their opinions on hotel sustainability. We also conducted a review of the available eco-friendly cleaning products and evaluated them based on the criteria outlined in the second part. Based on the data collected, we identified the best eco-friendly cleaning product that can be used in the Radisson Red Hotel. Generally, this thesis provides valuable insights into the selection of eco-friendly cleaning products in the hospitality industry. The findings of this research can be used by other hotels and hospitality establishments to implement effective and environmentally sustainable cleaning practices.
