Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, erken çocukluk döneminde müzik temelli etkinliklerin matematik becerilerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada ön test - son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2023-2024 yılında bağımsız bir anaokuluna devam etmekte olan 60-72 aylık 34 çocuk deney grubu, 37 çocuk kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 71 çocuk oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada 36 oturum ve 12 haftadan oluşan araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen“Müzik Temelli Matematik Programı”deney grubuna uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubuna MEB okul öncesi eğitimi programı uygulanmıştır. Uygulama sonrası deney ve kontrol grubuna son test ve izleme testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Önkol (2012) tarafından geliştirilen“Erken Sayı Testi”ve İvrendi, Erol ve Atan (2018) tarafından geliştirilen“5-6 Yaş Çocuklarına Yönelik Geometri ve Uzaysal Algı Testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, deney ve kontrol gruplarına yer alan öğrencilerin ön test puanları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmadığı, grupların başlangıç seviyelerinin benzer olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sontest sonuçlarına göre deney ve kontrol gruplarında yer alan çocukların son test puanları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın izleme testi sonuçları incelendiğinde deney grubunun puan ortalamalarının daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; 60-72 ay aralığında okul öncesi dönem çocuklarına uygulanman ”Müzik Temelli Matematik Programı"nın çocukların matematik ve geometri becerilerini desteklediğini söylemek mümkündür.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of music-based activities on mathematics skills in early childhood. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test control group was used in the study. The sample of the study consists of a total of 71 children, 34 children aged 60-72 months, in the experimental group and 37 children in the control group, who are attending an independent kindergarten in 2023-2024. The“Music-Based Mathematics Program”developed by the researcher, consisting of 36 sessions and 12 weeks, was applied to the experimental group. The MEB preschool education program was applied to the control group. After the application, a post-test and follow-up test were applied to the experimental and control groups. The Personal Information Form developed by the researcher, the“Early Number Test”developed by Önkol (2012) and the“Geometry and Spatial Perception Test for 5-6 Year-Old Children”developed by İvrendi, Erol and Atan (2018) were used in the study. According to the results obtained from the study, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the pre-test scores of the students in the experimental and control groups, and the initial levels of the groups were similar. According to the post-test results of the study, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group between the post-test scores of the children in the experimental and control groups. When the follow-up test results of the study were examined, it was determined that the mean scores of the experimental group were higher. As a result; It is possible to say that the“Music-Based Mathematics Program”applied to preschool children between the ages of 60-72 months supports children's mathematics and geometry skills.
