Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, resim iş eğitimi ana bilim dalında okuyan 1. Sınıf öğrencilerinin temel tasarım dersine yönelik görüşlerinin neler olduğunu ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma nitel bir araştırma olup fenomenoloji deseninden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında temel tasarım dersi alan 1. Sınıf öğrencilerinden seçilen 27 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplamak amacıyla geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunda yer alan katılımcıların sorulara verdikleri cevaplar içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analiziyle veriler tanımlamaya, verilerin içindeki saklı olabilecek gerçekler ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu sebeple görüşme sorularına verilen cevaplardan elde edilen veriler belirli kavramlar/temalar çerçevesinde kodlanarak, anlamlı bulgular elde edilmiştir. Veriler kodlanmış ve bir araya getirilerek temaların belirlenmesi sağlanmıştır. Daha sonra veriler, kodlamalara ve temalara göre sınıflandırılarak düzenlemiştir. Son aşamada ise toplanılan verilere anlam kazandırmak için bulgular arası ilişkiler açıklanmış, neden-sonuç ilişkileri kurulmuş, bulgulardan birtakım sonuçlar çıkarılmış ve elde edilen sonuçların önemine ilişkin açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Araştırma da yer alan temel tasarım ders içeriğine yönelik öğrenci görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde: Dersin içeriği yeterlidir, temel bilgilerin öğrenilmesinde çok yarar sağlaması, renklerin iyi derecede öğretilmesi, renkli çalışmaların daha yararlı olması, tasarım yeteneğini geliştirmesi, geometrik vi şekilli renkli çalışmaların iyi olması, teorik kısım artırılmalı, istenilen rengin kullanılabilmesinin iyi olması, kompozisyon yaratmanın yararlı olması, soyutlamalı tasarımların yararlı olması, temel tasarım bilgilerini öğrenmenin sıkıcı olması, boyamanın sıkıcı olması şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Araştırmada yer alan Öğrencilerin Dersin işleniş yöntemine yönelik görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde Öğretme tarzının iyi olması, Hocanın yorumlarının faydalı olduğu, Serbest atölye çalışmasının iyi olması, Zorlanılan becerilerde gelişme kaydedilmesi, Grup çalışmaları faydalıdır, Öğrenci kendi çabalamazsa dersin faydasız olması, İletişim kurmanın zor olması, Slâytlar ile anlatımın bilgilendirici olması, Sonuç odaklı olması, Sunumları dinlemenin sıkıcı olması, şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Araştırmada yer alan öğrencilerin ders kaynakları ve materyallerine yönelik görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde Materyal çeşitliliği yeterlidir, Materyallerin satın alınmasının ekonomik olarak zor olması, Guaj boyanın zor olması, Farklı boya çeşitlerinin müfredata alınması gerektiği, Öğrenci çalışmalarından örneklerin faydalı olması, Materyal seçiminde öğrenci fikirlerinin alınmasının iyi olması, Slâytların faydalı olması, Üç boyutlu materyallerin tasarlanması gerektiği şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Araştırmada yer alan Öğrencilerin Temel Tasarım dersi, sanatsal becerilerine ve yaratıcılıklarını yönelik görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde Temel bilgileri iyi öğretmesi, Yaratıcılığı geliştirmesi, Üretkenliği artırması, Boyama becerisini geliştirmesi, Resmi yorumlama yeteneğini geliştirmesi, Görsel okuryazarlığı geliştirmesi, Özgüveni geliştirmesi, Bilinenlerin daha ayrıntılı olarak öğrenilmesi, Problem çözme becerilerini geliştirmesi, Çok faydalı olmaması, Toplumun kabul edebileceği işler çıkarmaya yardım etmesi şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Araştırmada yer alan Öğrencilerin, Temel Tasarım dersindeki kendi performanslarına yönelik görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde İyi, Orta, Kötü, Zayıf alanlarda ilerleme katetme, Derslerin keyifli geçmesi, Farklı alanlara ilgi uyandırması, Sıcak bir ortam olması, İşin ciddiyetini anlamış olma, Öğrendikçe dersin daha kolay hale gelmesi, Renkli çalışmalarda daha başarılı olma, Aralıksız, uzun süre resim yapmanın sıkıcı olması, Öğretmen ve arkadaşların tavsiyelerinin yararlı olması şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Araştırmada yer alan Öğrencilerin, Temel Tasarım dersinin iyileştirilmesine yönelik görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde vize, final yerine çalışmaların puanlarının biriktirilmesi, farklı boya çeşitlerinin müfredata eklenmesi, teorik kısım artırılmalıdır, daha ferah bir ortam sağlanması gerektiği, dersin daha eğlenceli hale getirilmesi, devamsızlığın daha esnek hale getirilmesi, daha süreç odaklı olması gereklidir, kişiye özel ödevlendirme yapılması, guaj yerine akrilik boyanın kullanılması şeklinde başlıklar altında toplanıldığı görülmüştür. Sanat eğitimine yönelik olarak belki de en önemli derslerden biri olarak ifade edilebilecek temel tasarım derslerine yönelik olarak öğrenci görüşlerinin, tutum ve davranışlarının araştırıldığı çalışmalar şüphesiz ki söz konusu bu derslerin gelişimine ışık tutacaktır.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the opinions of first year students studying in the department of painting education about the basic design course. The research is a qualitative research and phenomenology pattern was used. The sample of the research consists of 27 first-year students who took the basic design course at Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Art Education in the 2023-2024 academic year. A semi-structured interview form developed to collect data was used. The answers given by the participants in the study group to the questions were analyzed using the content analysis method. Through content analysis, an attempt was made to define the data and to reveal the facts that may be hidden in the data. For this reason, the data obtained from the answers to the interview questions were coded within the framework of certain concepts/themes and meaningful findings were obtained. The data were coded and brought together to identify themes. Then, the data was classified and organized according to coding and themes. In the last stage, in order to give meaning to the data collected, the relationships between the findings were explained, cause-effect relationships were established, some conclusions were drawn from the findings, and explanations were made regarding the importance of the obtained results. When student opinions regarding the basic design course content included in the research are viii evaluated: The content of the course is sufficient, it is very useful in learning basic information, colors should be taught well, color studies are more useful, it improves design ability, geometric shaped color studies are good, the theoretical part should be increased, It was observed that they were grouped under the following headings: it is good to use any color you want, it is useful to create compositions, abstract designs are useful, learning basic design information is boring, and painting is boring. When the opinions of the students in the research about the teaching method of the course are evaluated, the teaching style is good, the teacher's comments are useful, the free workshop is good, there is improvement in difficult skills, group studies are useful, the course is useless if the student does not make an effort, it is difficult to communicate, explanation with slides It was observed that the presentations were gathered under the following headings: being informative, being result-oriented, and listening to presentations being boring. When the opinions of the students participating in the research regarding course resources and materials are evaluated, the variety of materials is sufficient, Purchasing the materials is economically difficult, Gouache painting is difficult, Different paint types should be included in the curriculum, Examples of student works are useful, It is good to get students' opinions in choosing materials, Slides are good. It has been seen that they are grouped under the headings such as being useful and three-dimensional materials should be designed. When the opinions of the students in the research about the Basic Design course were evaluated regarding their artistic skills and creativity, it was determined that it taught basic information well, developed creativity, increased productivity, developed painting skills, developed the ability to interpret the picture, developed visual literacy, developed self-confidence, learned what is known in more detail, and solved problems. It has been observed that they are grouped under the headings of improving their skills, not being very useful, and helping to produce work that is acceptable to the society. When the opinions of the students taking part in the research regarding their own performance in the Basic Design course are evaluated, they make progress in Good, Medium, Bad and Weak areas, Lessons are enjoyable, Arouse interest in different fields, It is a warm environment, Understanding the seriousness of the job, The course becomes easier as you learn, It was observed that they were grouped under the following headings: being more successful in color studies, painting continuously for a long time is boring, and the advice of teachers and friends is useful. When the opinions of the students taking part in the research regarding their own performance in the Basic Design course are evaluated, they make progress in Good, Medium, Bad and Weak areas, Lessons are enjoyable, Arouse interest in different fields, It is a warm environment, Understanding the seriousness of the job, The course becomes easier as you learn, It was observed that they were grouped under the following headings: being more successful in color studies, painting continuously for a long time is boring, and the advice of teachers and friends is useful. When the opinions of the students participating in the research regarding the improvement of the Basic Design course are evaluated, it is stated that the points of the studies should be accumulated instead of midterms, finals, different paint types should be added to the curriculum, the theoretical part should be increased, a more spacious environment should be provided, the course should be made more entertaining, absenteeism should be made more flexible, It has been observed that it should be process-oriented, personal assignments should be made, and acrylic paint should be used instead of gouache. Studies investigating student opinions, attitudes and behaviors regarding basic design courses, which can be described as one of the most important courses in art education, will undoubtedly shed light on the development of these courses
