Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı etkinlik temelli sürdürülebilir çevre eğitiminin 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin çevre bilincine etkisini incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda araştırma deneysel yöntem kullanılarak yarı deneysel desen türlerinden birisi olan ön test - son test eşitlenmemiş kontrol gruplu desen ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu uygun örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılı Şanlıurfa ili Eyyübiye ilçesinde Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı bir ilkokulun 4. sınıfına devam eden 20'si deney, 20'si kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 40 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri Avan (2011) tarafından geliştirilen Çevre Bilgi Ölçeği (ÇBÖ) ve Çevresel Davranış Ölçeği (ÇDÖ) ile Yıldız (2011) tarafından geliştirilen Sürdürülebilir Çevre Tutum Ölçeği (SÇTÖ) kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Deneysel işlem kapsamında, deney grubundaki öğrencilerle toplamda yedi hafta süren etkinlikler yapılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrenciler müfredata göre eğitim ve öğretime devam etmişlerdir. Araştırmanın verileri SPSS 25 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Normallik analizinde Shapiro-Wilk testi ile birlikte basıklık ve çarpıklık değerleri incelenmiş, gruplar arasındaki anlamlı farklılığın olup olmadığının belirlenmesinde parametrik bir test olan Bağımsız Gruplar T-Testi ile non-parametrik testler olan Mann Whitney U testi ve Quade's Testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda etkinlik temelli sürdürülebilir çevre eğitiminin öğrencilerin çevre bilgilerini geliştirmede, çevre davranışlarını değiştirmede ve sürdürülebilir çevre tutumlarını değiştirmede etkili olmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine whether activity-based sustainable environmental education has an effect on the environmental awareness of 4th grade students. In this direction, the study was carried out using the experimental method with a pre-test-post-test unmatched control group design, which is one of the quasi-experimental design types. The study group of the research was determined using the convenience sampling method. The study group of the research consists of a total of 40 students, 20 of whom are in the experimental group and 20 of whom are in the control group, attending the 4th grade of a primary school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the Eyyübiye district of Şanlıurfa province in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data of the research were collected using the Environmental Knowledge Scale (ECS) and Environmental Behavior Scale (ECS) developed by Avan (2011) and the Sustainable Environmental Attitude Scale (SÇTÖ) developed by Yıldız (2011). Within the scope of the experimental process, activities lasting a total of seven weeks were carried out with the students in the experimental group. The students in the control group continued their education and training with the current curriculum. The data of the study were analyzed using SPSS 25 program. In the normality analysis, the values of kurtosis and skewness were examined together with the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the parametric Independent T-Test and the non-parametric Mann Whitney U test and Quade's Test were used to determine whether there was a significant difference between the groups. As a result of the study, it was concluded that activity-based sustainable environmental education was not effective in developing students' environmental knowledge, changing their environmental behaviors and changing their sustainable environmental attitudes.
